Has anyone spotted anything new in this compilation tonight? Sometimes they throw in a bit of new stuff, but if there is anything (A) I haven't spotted it and (B) it isn't making me laugh.
I have to agree the show isn't firing on all cylinders any more but I seem to be the only person here who actually likes Chris Addison and Jack Whitehall. Addison in particular has come across much better here than in that awful medical sitcom he was in some while back.
But that new bloke last night... what an utter plank. He just sat there like "bloke-from-pub" occasionally saying stuff that were just statements, no joke at all. His stand up dragged on and was cringe after cringe. The producers need to dig deeper into their budget and hire some bigger talent. Series 1 & 2 used more household names so let's get people like Frank Skinner, Stephen Fry and Alan Carr on.
Oh, and Hugh Dennis is always good! I continue you to enjoy all his contributions, he really anchors the show. But it's been a long time since he's name-checked Showaddywaddy.
Hmm, possibly some good news then. I've always said that they should either axe one of Russell or Andy or alternate their appearances.
Russell Kane can be mistaken for Howard so that may be confusing for some
The guest list is varied in talent but I hope they settle in more, get more airtime and jokes in and not embarrass themselves.
Byrne is very good.
Bridges is good but new to the panel game circuit.
Jones is good but neeRAB to add more to the rest of the show rather than his oneliners.
Oh, RAB. No wonder I've been missing this show over the past few weeks - BBC NI have some other rubbish on instead. Thought I was going mad because I hadn't seen MTW advertised.
BTW, I've eventually had a reply from the BBC about their repeat of ep.3 the week after it was first shown. What a load of junk their reply is, but here it is anyway:
I thought Chris's reply to "If the answer is '7 Years', what's the question?" was very funny - the idiot in front of you at the self-checkout till - because it's true!
