Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow - New Series

As soon as I saw the trailer knew it was coming from Ireland. A parting greeting here is also ' That's the story.'

Was expecting a few other comedians such as Neil Delamere, seeing as it was from Ireland. Still a good show, Tommy Tiernan was good.

I usually love Michael McIntyre, but I watched his show last week and thought the jokes he did about Raoul Moat were in very poor taste. I was quite disappointed with him.

I really don't see the point in this series, far too short to include all the comics, one of them was literally on 2 and a half minutes the one who went on about visiting his dad and leaving the windows open, forgot his name, he was funny and I was getting into him then he just said bye and he was gone, Noel was very disappointing, the fly sketch funny to start with but he totally over did it to the point were it became totally irritating, a bit like a fly I guess, that was maybe what he was trying to do I dunno. But overall what a load of rubbish, Even Sean Walsh who I thought was great when he did the Russell Howard show at the end slot, just virtually did the same joke about the airport travelator so I'd heard all that before, surely if you are funny and that's your job you can write something new for every tv appearance, it's not like you are going to be on every week.

Maybe in the whole show they had much longer appearances and they edit it to 3 mins or something but for me just don't see the point, might as well make it an hour.

I love John Bishop and have seen his solo shows twice and he just cracks me up all the time!:D :D
He and Kevin Bridges are my two favourites at the moment and I also like Sarah Millican!:D

People were laughing about the Gazza incident pretty much since it happened, I'm sure mock the week spent some time on it.

He was certainly different! But the fact that he was so different is the reason he's likely to be totally unfunny to many who prefer their comedy more traditional, like me.

I was at the filming of the new series of this last night in glasgow and it was hilarious!!

What I found interesting was that there was 5 comedians on, and from what I remember last year, they only showed Michael McIntyre plus 3 guests? So maybe looks to see reaction of the audience as to who gets on tv?

There was;

Milton Jones - who is regularly on MTW, he was just joke after joke with no stories attached. He was ok, but not really my taste.
Holly Walsh - Was ok, few laughs but nothing special.
Daniel Sloss - New 19 yr old comedian who was brill! Lots of laughs and went down really well with audience! One to watch!
Craig Campbell - CRAZY canadian comedian who was one of my favs! Never heard of him before but he was brilliant!
Kevin Bridges - The headliner - Who was just brill! Nothing more has to be said for him!

And of course Michael McIntyre did a 20min set at the beginning then came on for 10mins inbetween each comedian.

It was a great night and 3 hours worth of filming, so will be interesting to see what gets put on the tv!

Has anyone else been yet or going to see one of the recordings?

Tommy Tiernan was the best by miles.

The first guy was average - boring jokes about drinking. Zoe Lyons didn't do much for female comedians. The ginger guy with the voice was average too, but his voice will make him stand out and get him onto panel shows, possibly.

What was the name of the Irish guy in episode 3 or 2? He did a bit about his eyebrows.

I think Paul Gascoigne was the main butt of his humour there. Arguably still poor taste given that the man has an alcohol problem, but he wasn't mocking Moat's victims.

Had to turn over after a minute or two of Noel Fielding which made it even shorter.

Blink and you missed the other comedians! I can only presume that the BBC had to edit it down to 30 mins. for scheduling reasons.

Just seen the Dublin one and I thought.

Why are the BBC wasting a load of cash sending all these (bar one) over to Ireland to churn out the same stuff. Have we run out of places in the UK?

I thought the previous show from Dublin was very good. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other comments about the Bristol show..very poor, and Noel Fielding was terrible.

I think Comedy RoaRABhow should be at least an hour if they pack that many comedians in. :)
I enjoyed Steve Hughes who was on RoaRABhow once (or was it Apollo), I saw him live recently and he was very funny :D

Do you really need the spoilers?

1) I like but after seeing the DVD you know each joke.
2) Haven't been impressed with so far. A couple of good jokes here and there but not enough for a set.
3) Never heard of. Looking forward to from your comment.
4) Superb. Catch on Comedy Blue or Edinburgh and Beyond.
5) Probably the comedian of the moment. Hope to hear new stuff. Hope it isn't retread material.
