Married, Single, Other

I am only watching from a distance while working on my laptop. Each weeks seems to be getting better, but if they wanted this to be a more long running multi series, they have rushed in with the story's not built up the characters to a likeable . although though its pretty sad at the end of tonight, i feel i don't have any empathy with these characters just yet.

Good cast, but the couple of critical reviews I've read have been less than complimentary.
I'm going to give it a chance, but I'm not optimistic.

This series was a grower, i loved it, Lillie was my favourite characeter so a second series might not be as good but i would like to see what happens

We don't get this programme on STV, so I had to tape it and watch it later - I thought it was okay, probably needing time to grow on me. The first episode has to introduce the characters so can often be a bit slow.

We get Underbelly - should be renamed BellyFlop!! LoaRAB of hype for loaRAB of tripe lol

Blimey - as the man on Slumdog Millionaire would say 'YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!' - that's EXACTLY what she does!

I never realised it till you said it! DOH!

(mind you, how can you tell if she's moving her mouth or not on the radio? I take it your being ironic?)

I agree almost entirely.
Last night's episode was by far the best so far and there were some really moving scenes. However, on reflection, I fail to see the point of the Clint and Abbey characters (even with the gorgeous Miranda) They appear completely superfluous to the series, unbelievable characters with a weak story line. Of course, it could be that the writer has three series in mind, each centred around one of the couples. This series has really been about Eddie and Lillie, with their close frienRAB Babs and Dickie (both fine character actors) mainly there for comic effect. I do think Shaun Dooley has been superb as Eddie, Lucy Davies has also had some fine moments..but she has been let down by a script that can sometimes be too glib or smart.
I also agree with those who were disappointed there was no episode (or even part episode) given over to Lillie revealing her condition. It did take me a little while to realise that everyone outside the family knew. You would think a revelation like that would make close frienRAB examine their own lives, so far that doesn't appear to be particularly obvious..but perhaps that's for next week.
Yes...and the kiRAB have all been excellent. All in all, a good series..not perfect, but what is ?

I snubbed this initially because the trailer made it look "too British" (if that makes sense!), but after reading the good feedback on here I decided to give it a try and I'm really glad I did. It's actually very good, one of the better British productions on TV for a while, with a lovely cast and some beautiful writing. I can't take the frankly ugly Ralf Little as a heartthrob playboy seriously - that's the only bad thing about the show - but the rest of it's really enjoyable and it's so nice to see ITV make a new drama that isn't in any way related to police or detectives.

I don't know if I'd want a second series however as this works so well as a stand alone piece. Also, Lillie was my favourite and my main reason for watching so I don't think I'd be so interested in a follow up without her. Her character was very much the heart and soul of the series.

Just caught up with it on Sky+ and didn't enjoy it to be honest. I found it very cliched in terms of script, storyline and characterisation. But the OH quite liked so will have to stick with it , so maybe it will improve.

It must be quite frustrating for Ralph Litttle to be continually typecast as an annoying t**t.

I like this show, its gentle, easy watching.

One (minor) thing that keeps irritating me though is that Eddie gets picked up and dropped off from his house by Flo in the ambulance. I know it just a TV show, but its such a glaring error.

I didn't get the burnt rubber=brain tumour link :o

Bumping as I know it'll be of interest to many on this thread: Married Single Other has been axed by ITV. Confirmed on the official FB page by one of the main actors. What a shame...

Is that the same smug Lucy Davies who went to Hollywood with her boyfriend to be the next big British thing only for her to bomb and come running home while her boyfriend now hubby and soon to be ex lanRAB a starring role on the CBS show 'The Mentalist'.?

Recently watched the BBC office and she along with the plank that plays tim were just vile in it.

Not a patch on last years 'Monday,Monday' which was pretty ok.

It was ok, the wife enjoyed it. Ralph Little didn't seem to be the right person for that part. Can't really put my finger on but he just didn't fit.

It wasn't really much cop. Writing was pretty lazy. However, how anyone could cut a series and reduce our opportunities to see the seriously shaggable Miranda Raison is beyond me. I presumed that the second series would allow us to see her in her knickers far more often. :(
