Mamma Mia!

Yeah I loved the musical so I can't wait for the movie!! I saw the video for Gimme Gimme Gimme on one of the music channels earlier and the film looks brilliant!!

I only went to see it for the first time yesterday! I had heard that it was a "love it or hate it" movie, even if you like ABBA songs, so I was reserving judgement...but I loved it!!

There were some bits that I found a bit cringe-worthy (usually involving Meryl Streep, but at the same time, I think she was amazing, especially with "The Winner Takes It All" which completely blew me away!). I would still give it out 10/10 though, and I hope to get the soundtrack soon! :D

Dancing Queen is better in the film due to the bigger sets but most of the jokes move over well.

There are songs in the show not in the film and vice versa.

Both are brilliant but I think the atmosphere is better in the theater than the cinema.

Take A Chance on me is better in the theater setting but Julia Walters takes it to a new level of comedy.

Lol, I agree with that! I really expected to absolutely love it - it looked soooo like my taste in movies!

I'm actually quite upset that I didn't like it - I thought it would be a given that I would! Oh, well - I'm still holding out for We Will Rock You, the movie!!

Worst film of the year. Perhaps worst of the decade bar High School Musical. I don't understand the reports of people singing and dancing in the aisles. When I wet everyone in the screening was sat still and silent. And I LOVE musicals in general.

I can't stand Meryl Streep and having seen a few clips of her from the film, she has totally ruined the film. With her ridiculous over acting as always, murdering of the great ABBA songs . She is totally unsuitable for the part as is Pierce Brosnan. What a stinker of a film.
When you compare this load of rubbish to the fantastic partnering of Olivia Newton John and John Travolta in Grease.

*SQUEALS*
I'm going again Saturday.
One of my frienRAB has obliged to escort me to my fifth visit! :D

The lure of 2 for 1 McDonalRAB vouchers was too much for her.

CAN'T WAIT TO DANCE

I went to see it on Thursday, and it was brilliant. I found it really funny and it was clever how they managed to fit the songs in with the story. A couple of worRAB were changed in a few songs but not many. I loved it :D

This film was awesome, I saw it last night!!!!!!! I so wanna c it again!

We have the soundtrack, im listening to it now!!!

so funny.... praise to colin firth who is finally gay in a film, about time!!!

I eventually saw it yesterday - it came out the day I went on holiday so I had to wait. It was just as fabulous and funny as the stage show.

I now want to go back to Greece (haven't been for years), and see both the film and the stage show again...now where did I put my ABBA Gold CD.......

Saw the film tonight and although I did think it was good, and had me tapping my feet, I probably won't go and see it again.

I'm really looking forward to seeing TDK though.

Your constant pretense that you wanted to talk about the movie is not going work, you attacked and belittled others that is what I suggested you stop doing.

Except its not a *discussion* forum - people can do that if they like, but they don't have to. And with your behavior I doubt you have anything to say that I'd wish to hear (haven't been true so far).

I won't find out though, I'm going to ignore you now, this is not a productive waste of time.
