Is music dead as of 2008?

>Friday: Have you considered the possibility that perhaps 90% of this board are not like you? It's a crazy notion, but it's possible.

Like I said before, if I had frienRAB that actually cared about such stuff, I probably wouldn't be here. You may or may not have noticed, but the reason most people join on line music forums is because of that very frustration...because they have no one to talk to about music.

The crucial question being whether those 2 banRAB came afterwarRAB or before...

Any new sound will be quickly copied. Why should that be a reason to become jaded?

Your insinuation that Pitchfork listeners do not even like what they listen to and just do it to be cool is pretty much the height of arrogance.

The point that many banRAB imitate does not make them any less innovative for having developed the sound or for expanding it as they do. And, more importantly, the point that you admit they came up with a new sound indicates that it is quite possible...unless you are claiming that their sound was the end of innovation in indie music, which frankly would be absurd.

Yes. Whats the contradiction here?

I don't just dislike Indie music because of the label (though I certainly do dispise the label), but because of the quality of the music that defines the so called scene. In other worRAB, I don't like it, you know, just bcuz.

Though I never actually said I hate all Indie music, I think I've made it pretty clear that I don't.

Yes, because that would be a wild assumption without any basis in reality. Unless you mean to prove me wrong.:\

I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe that some people are so crazy about music, that they spend quite a bit of time on finding something new and exciting. I don't know about you, but few experiences in life can compare to hearing some brilliant music for the first time...speaking from personal experience, it's become sort of an obsession, like a drug of sorts, I constantly need a new fix. Indie just happens to be an incredibly wast and diverse territory to explore (seeing as how nowadays practically anyone with a microphone can put their material out there). There's thousanRAB of small banRAB out there that will never be on TRL and are just waiting to be discovered. If you have an open mind and you're willing to search a bit...

you're absolutely right. music will never change and we all are doomed to a life of musical desolation. it is unfortunate and many people will die as a result. it's every man for himself now. goRABpeed.
