Just out of curiosity, what is this hatred of IGN that keeps cropping up? I'm not much of a video gamer anymore, so I must be out of the loop or something.

Hmm. So far the only big surprises are Galaxy High and perhaps Duckula (which doesn't turn up often on American lists).
 
I hate when places online make top 100 lists of anything, TMNT #55, come on! It was one of the most successfull series in animation history and created a legacy that it hard to match. Unless the editior of the site is choosing his personal favorite, this list is crap.
 
I think it's residual hate left over from when they started adding sections for TV shows, music, movies, comics, babes, etc. However, I have to say their video game coverage is still fairly reliable (and by "reliable" I don't mean their reviewers' opinions always line up with my own) and their TV/music/movie coverage is actually some of the more respectable I've seen on the internet.
 
Boy, did I laugh when I saw Muppet Babies above Superman. But not as hard as when I read this:



That was a got-dang good cartoon, I tell you whut.
 
I never agree with these list but Clone Wars and Afro Samurai are better than Full Metal Alchemist? Seriously? They only aired about a dozen episodes for Clone Wars and aside from the animation Afro was decent at best.
 
Beats me, considering everyone seems to be getting upset over game reviews, which are just opinions anyway. It's tiring to see memebers here tear apart people at IGN on the grounds that they don't know what they're talking about, when it seems to be only a matter of differing opinions.
 
Spectacular Spider-man at number thirty? Yay i actually expected it to be skipped all together but instead it got a very good spot. It deserves it. But would I have rated it higher then Gargoyles? No.
 
The entertainment value from the list is nothing compared to the drama when someones personal favorite/most despiced cartoon makes the list. :sweat:

Before complaining, I think it helps to remember that not everyone shares your feelings on things.
 
Now let's be serious here.

Avatar is an amazing feat of storytelling and animation and certainly a classic that is going to be remembered for some time. The story is compelling, the characters are likable, the humor is charming, and the production values -- with splendid animation and voice acting -- are often breathtaking. It is a series people of all ages can enjoy.

The no. 1 spot is what it deserves. I would be forgiving if it were at least in the top 5.

But #35? A joke.
 
A joke? You've gotta be realistic, man. A list like this requires at least a little bit of consensus, and there is definitely no consensus that Avatar is one of the 5 best animated shows ever made. In fact, I'm sure there are lots of people who wouldn't even put it on this list at all.
 
It's just some random list; it's not like it means anything at the end of the day. Other shows that have done all that before, and better, probably wont even end up making the list at all. If you really care so much about the list, just try to be glad it's on there at all, since it's all basically a popularity contest more or less.
 
It was a great series! I loved it as a kid and I love it today, it has action, humor and fun animation. Sure it can be cheesy at times but it's a cartoon for heavens sake, lol, but all in all it just may be my favorite ever, or at least in the top 5.
