I Demand My Money Back!! The Worst Films You've Ever Had To Sit Through

Yep. I have and own it on DVD. A great film with some great acting. Maybe it didn't have enough CGI and explosions in it for you???

Just one film. One film that earns me a smack when I admit I hate it.

Well, I was pressured into watching it because I hadn't seen it before and it was apparently the greatest film ever. I didn't know anyone who hadn't seen it and loved it, and Empire Magazine wouldn't shut up about it.

The original Star Wars.
Oh gawd, could there be a worse film? It was in no way exciting (John Lasseter lied ) and the acting was awful. I really could not care what happened to the characters or how the story ended. I also saw Attack of the Clones back when it first came out, but I don't remember it that much.

Most of the posters in this thread seem to dislike films that are thought-provoking or demand some degree of intelligence to understand.

Personally I enjoy mindless action films, but I also like films that I don't 'get' on the first viewing. A truly bad film is one made without any love - usually quick cash-ins (like Epic Movie etc).

I saw this one at the cinema when I had my megapass and thought it was OK, the bit where you see the alien at the childrens' party is quite chilling actually.

But I watched this on TV the other night and like you was bored senseless so gave up. Strange!

I've not seen Get Smart, but I've seen a lot of Steve Carell's work, and I don't like him that much either. He was good in Bruce Almighty, but anything else I've seen him in isn't great.

Thanks for the information on Cloverfield. That was probably going to be my next purchase, so I think I'll steer clear. Whenever anyone uses a Blair Witch Comparison, that's my cue to avoid it like the plague.

Superbad was not a bad film at all, in my opinion. I didn't like the cops in it - they were only needed for two minutes - not for the second half of the film.

Another terrible film for you guys to mull over - The Man Who Sued God (Billy Connelly). No humour, no direction, and the ususal love interest bollocks. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

First movie I ever walked out of was Give my regarRAB to broaRABtreet with Paul McCartney, can't think now whatever possessed me to think it was a good idea to see it. Last movie I walked out of was Marie Antoinette, absolute sewer material. Ranking with it are the last alien/predator movie, the laughable Happening and any movie that has Madonna "acting" in, evil stuff

The most disappointing are the ones you had some expectation they'd be any good. I hated the often mentioned Vanilla Sky. 30 minutes in the dialogue and acting (save Tim Spall and Penelope Cruz) was so bad I did wonder if it was meant to be a spoof.

More recently Cloverfield. I thought the idea of an old fashioned monster B-movie transferred into post 9/11 media ultra reality was an interesting concept. I still do. It's a pity Cloverfield isn't that film.

Knowing - I had to google how this ended because I coudn't sit through it any longer, from the results I didn't miss much.

Twilight - was it really hard to use actors that can act? Kristin S seems to have just 1 facial expression.

an honoury mention for:

The Royal Tenanbaums

Reeeeeaaaaallly boring, pretentious shit! Stuffed full of big named actors, nothing very interesting happened, obnoxiouas characters that I couldnt warm to, not funny either.

Just sh*te!!!

But I think that of ALL Wes Anderson movies ... I avoid them like the plague these days...

Hope Springs (thankfully I didn't have to pay for that little gem)

Pirates of the Carribean (don't get why it's so popular)

The third Matrix film (fell asleep)

Freddie Got Fingered - In no way shape or form was it amusing, cringe-worthingly embarrasing perhaps, but funny, No!

Blair Witch Project - Sat through about half an hour of it, got bored, fast fowarded trhough the rest until the end scene, don't feel I missed anything. It was just dull

Vertical Limit - Only time I have ever been in a popcorn fight in the cinema, no one minded, no one in there was watching it anyway.

Lost In Space - Don't remember what happened, just remember stuggling to make it to the end

Sin City - Overly stylised shite, case of style over substance. Actually didn't get that far through coz the stylised nonsense annoyed me so much.

Stir of Echos - Came out the cinema thinking, I really just paid for that??

Hollow Man - Again, can't remember it but remember thinking it was the worst film I had ever seen at the time.

I am sure there are more if I think about it. All the '... Movie' ones are probably rubbish, but I have never bothered to sit through one to find out.

How can they be "quite clearly" anything? I've never seen any of them. I don't think I've even heard of any of them until this thread. How am I supposed to know what any of them are like if I haven't seen them? What is the logic in choosing those films to compare with Disaster Movie, instead of any other films?
