GUIDE: How to flash your F480 Tocco

Hey Guys. Im new here and I cant decide between Tocco and Omnia, because Omnia is a way faster. Does the new firmwares make the Tocco faster ? Pls answer! THX
 
im on vodafone, I got it a week ago.
I was wondering, because some websites say debranded phone is faster/better than branded one. not sure why....

Picture quality is not impressive at all. I tried changing settings or edit/adjust/auto level, but it looks worse than
photos from 2mpxl phone, even after transferring it to PC :-(

Havnt tried the music player yet.

man thats bad, was hoping new firmware made the camera better!! Have you transferred them to your PC and viewed them on there, as apparantly theres a prob viewing the camera pics at 5MP on the actual phone.

Try it and see, but from what I hear not sure. My brother has a Voda Uk Tocco, hes on E2 FW. got it about 8 weeks ago

I want to have the newer FW.

CAn you play a video and see if the title stays on the screen, as both mine and my brothers do, its annoying.

Try the music play and scroll through
 
The menu looks like it does in the Samsungmobile.com tutorial of the tocco.

Unfortunatly I don't think they release details about firmware changes to the public. I wish they made it more official and more avaliable and easy to flash like the iPhone firmwares (even thgouh they are a bit crap atm). The only way of finding out is from previous suers of the firmwares. You might be able to find some information on this forum.

As for bricking, I think that'll only happen if you choose the wrong files or switch off your phone,comp or disconect during the flashing process.
 
This off a English F480?

I want to do a update on my F480 UK O2 phone, but latest seems to be ..HF7 version.

there seems to be more and more ..HG? FW coming out.

so hopefully these fix a lot more?

i went to flash the phone but it came up with a error and now it wont do anything...switch on or anything......PLEASE HELP!

Thanks, Mine is F480ADHD3, so what does the AD bit mean pls? Its on O2 UK, I think its an unlocked phone, ie any SIM card from other networks are allowed.

So the F7 firmware is the latest?, or do you think I should wait for later firmware before attempting? Ive never done this and am nervous as Im 1 month into a 18 month contract?
 
Wow this makes a differenc to me then, Im only 1 month into a 18month contract, i dont want to void my warranty is this definitely the case? its on O2 UK. The only branding I can see is the O2 startup and goodbye screen.
 
which one do i flash my phone to the low or mid
whats the difference and what do people recommend
 
Hello mate as said before i work for orange and have done for many years. Now if they find out that the firmware has been changed they will through the toys out of the pram and most likely tell you to go away. However like most we dont have the manpower to check every phone so it like spot checks you would have be very unlucky mate. But keep in mind it could happen its unlikely go for it i did
 
Thanks everything works fine,with bootloader you have to fill in boot and full download too.versio XXHF7 is perfect working foe the European market including the Netherlands.
 
ok this is what i did
first download the files
2. make sure your screen looks like this


(after it flashes the boot it will restart your phone and try to connect back to the pc but you will not be able to and your phone will have a red screen(i was scared thinking OMG MY NEW PHONE IS BRICKED. after trying to reflashe it over and over again i realized you need to do a second flash)


so after you do the first step stated above
reconnect your phone to the pc and uncheck the boot box so it will look like this
 
Master reset : camera still not working, I will take it into the shop I got it from tommorow and say the camera has stopped working!!!! cheers
 
sh*t f**k.. is it so hard to read the thread?.. I wrote about it some posts ago, so go and digg a bit, reading does not hurt!
