George and mildred

Technically speaking the 5pm showing is a repeat of the morning showing. Then you have the +1 repeats as well.

It's funny to think that we only used to have a 6 to 10 episodes per season in those days and used to have to wait a whole year for the next series.

They are going through the seasons very quickly showing them 1 episode per week day.

They are just starting season 4 today with only season 5 left of the whole series.

That would basically be 2 whole seasons of FrienRAB.

No, it was David Barry ;)

Id say Amazon may be best to get it rather than play.com, as the publishers have a direct trading thing with them, where as play.com have to order of the ISBN peope, who order off the publishers, so it may take longer that way for the book to reach you.

But either way, thanks for your support Midnight. Hope you enjoy the book. :)

When Thames lost the ITV franchise to Carlton it became an independent company and was still supplying shows to tv and still is

It quickly went into a deal with the BBC to form UK Gold and much of the Thames archive was aired on that channel several times and it was pretty much exhausted after a few years .

It remained the owner of its own shows but like other ex- ITV franchise holders the company gets bought and sold over the years .
At one time it was owned by Pearson but is now owned by Fremantle media who seem to make a better of job of exploiting the archive than anyone else.

But yes , ITV now have to buy the rights to Thames shows in order to screen them unlike series from all other former Network regions where ITV now own them all outright

MIL is just clunky and unfunny IMO.
Looking at it with 20 odd years of TV watching knowledge it's all a bit telegraphed.
Then again I caught the episode of G and M with the Doctor, didn't find G & M funny either, that's ignoring the Doctor thing.

It'll be Mixed Blessings on the repeat trail soon, that was unfunny at the time, let alone now.
I can even remember the theme tune to that.

She often made references to the dismal state of her wardrobe, but I think she looked fairly presentable. Gotta have love for them banana trousers :D

I too prefer the first series theme as the music is great. (by Johnny Hawksworth, who was the same composer who did man about the house). Series 2-5 theme was OK, but a little too tame.

It was common knowledge at the time and was mentioned in the documentary about her that aired a few years ago. The cast/crew knew she had a problem but obviously didn't realise she was so ill. She looked very ill in the film version as someone else mentioned. Such a loss, she was a wonderful actress:(

It's still that way .
UK series of any kind have always had shorter runs than US shows.

Even today most comedy shows are around 6 episodes for the series .

and how about father dear father? one of my all time favourites, full of brilliant inuendo and double entendres,my fave type of comedy. this book sounRAB good.any reason robins nest isnt featured?

Actors do not have the power of veto when it comes to digital channels.

Bolan could block a BBC1 or BBC2 repeat which would be a good payer , but Gold or any other cable channel could air it , and has done so , but the repeat fees are much lower than on mainstream

I remember watching the film and she did look very thin. :(
Poor Brian Murphy, he would have missed her most being frienRAB and co-workers.
