did you hear about the movie "Imaginary Heroes?" Emile Hirsch has a gay experience in the movie. ;)

I went ahead and ordered Sugar from amazon.com. I'll come back and post my thoughts on the movie when I receive it and watch it. I just want to collect Fehr's movies. He is a very good actor and I've been a fan since Roswell. :D I got free shipping on it because I ordered Rites of Passage along with it.

Ugh, I agree so much. Fingersmith is probably one of my favourite films ever. Tipping the Velvet is even better, ca you believe there was an uproar against the too much lesbian scenes? Ermm.. duh.
But FS is closer to my heart. I love the twists. ;)

Sommersturm might be one of the best coming of age, realizing, coming out movies out there. It was sensitive and smart. And handles the issue without too many clichés but it's still fun. :) And the erotic scene is one of the most beautiful one in film, it's innocent yet arousing and...very very hot.

Let me recommend a Hungarian movie: Egymásra nézve (Another Way) from 1982.

It's very good and tragic but never sappy. I was completely overwhelmed by the rawness of Makk's storytelling.

Ermm, one last thing. I don't know if I count Persona as a gay-themed. It's much more complicated than that. I have actually written a paper on it for my film class, as it is my favourite film ever. :) I love it so much. Liv Ullmann is the most perfect specimen that ever graced our world. But this is a whole different topic. :D

L&D, sooo need to see that even though I've read the transcript, seen the storyboard (sooooo many screencaps at www.a-tribute-to-lost-and-delirious.com).

KJS, friends of my dad's, they go to my church and have a son who was in the movie.

I own that movie, cheesy but I love me some Ellen Muth.. She was the whole reason why I wanted to see Dead Like Me.. which led me to Bryan Fuller.. which led to Wonderfalls (its star, Caroline Dhavernas, has a small role in L&D).. a show cancelled way too soon.. has a Republican lesbian lawyer.

I'm now looking forward to seeing DEBS in theatres. Saw the short, LOVED it. So funny. DEBS also has that guy whose parents are friends of my dad's and go to my church. Michael Mastro's his name.

Didn't see "Showgirls" on the bi -list, or then I just need to get new glasses :goof:

Anyone seen it? Gina Gershon and Elizabeth Berkley have that verrrrry sexy dance and the goodbye kiss in the end  :eyebrows:

I loved that movie and love the part at the end where they then show what happen to the real people in his life.

Lots of gay movies I have seen lately have really been uplifting films about acceptance being who you are. Which makes me happy how far movies with gay characters have come.

I adored the movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. I rented it from the library and I just thought it had such creativity and heart.

I just saw Bad Education. Gay themed and very good movie! Gael Garcia Bernal is amazing in it. :D

Also, Sugar is another one. Has not been released yet, but I can't wait for it to be released here in the U.S. to see it! Brendan Fehr!!

i have a heaps of gay themed movies i love here are a few:)
Brokeback mountian
C.R.A.Z.Y
If these walls could talk part 2
Party Monster
i will post more later

...my family and i gave up watching television along time go....everything...no satellite, no cable, no free channels....strickly dvds, movie theaters and radio....do i miss not watching television??...not in the least...i'd rather read a book instead to tell you the truth..

I own "Eating Out" on dvd, but I haven't seen "eating out 2" though. I'm debating whether or not to see it. The first one was pretty cheesy, but worthy enough for me to buy it. :P

I just saw a movie this weekend called "Cowboys and Angels". The story takes place in Ireland and it's about a straight guy and a gay guy that roommate with each other and they become good friends. It isn't a love story, but it has gay elements which is pretty worthy of watching.

I love Fehr. I have Roswell on DVD simply because he's in it (along with Forsaken).

If it was possible to buy Sugar somewhere here for $15 I would. But I'm not going to special order it and pay shipping/handling for it.

just a quick post to the thread...i was reading the calendar section of the los angeles times yesterday..and they were previewing the films that were coming out this year by genre.....of special note to this thread are the following films...they all have gay or lesbian themes....the good news is there's alot to look forward too...the bad news is most of these will probably be only shown in limited release or at film festivals....

'balls'
'summer storm'
'formula 17'
'you i love'
'saving face'
'mysterious skin'
'dorian blues'
'naked fame'

and this looks like it might be fun.....:)....it's a gay slasher film.......
'hellbent'....Halloween in West Hollywood, two guys making out in a park are interrupted by a serial killer. Later that night, a group of gay kids decide to visit to the site of the murders.

quick post to the thread before the weekend ends...today i saw the trailer for 'my summer of love' in a theater....it's from the uk....it looks kind of interesting.... and it should be in art house theaters hardly anywhere very soon...

snyopsis....

"Anchored by remarkable debut performances from British newcomers Nathalie Press and Emily Blunt and excellent support from the ever dependable Paddy Considine, this tale of lesbian lust and born-again Christianity casts an intense and seductive spell that's hard to classify, and even harder to resist."

quick pass through the thread....giving it some new blood.......anybody else besides me see 'the mudge boy' in a theater a few months back?????......it stars emilie hirsch ('the girl next door').....strongly recommended....it's the homoerotic story of a boy and his pet chicken......very bizarre.....and the ending will leave you gasping and shaking your head........

I loved The Bubble, though the end was a bit overdramitic. But i loved the voiceover in the end

Still haven't seen Yossi and Jager :(

Oh, there's an Israeli movie called Hallelujah which has some gay themes in it, don't want to say too much as not to spoil it.

To tell you the truth I did a double take when I saw this in the first page. It was a hello, stranger moment.

I have seen "Velvet Goldmine" since I last came here so, at least there have been some progress on my part.
