i rented velvet goldmine..i didn't watch it yet...whoever saw it? i want to know what u guys thought about the movie..

I finally saw Milk a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely teared up a bit at the end.

yesterday i saw 'walk on water'......

brief synopsis.....

A prototypical tough Israeli intelligence agent (Lior Ashkenazi) is assigned to hunt down an aging Nazi war criminal, a mission that brings him into contact with the man's liberal grandchildren--a gay Berlin teacher (Knut Berger) and his sister (Carolina Peters), who lives on an Israeli Kibbutz. The most ambitious film yet from gifted Israeli director Eytan Fox ("Yossi & Jagger"), "Walk on Water" attempts--and mostly succeeds--at capturing the complex historical threads connecting Germans and Jews today and how the prejudices and perceptions each has of the other affects the different generations. "Walk on Water" is a highly accomplished drama that also allows room for some humor, poking fun at both the macho Israeli archetype and the German penchant for propriety. Superbly acted, and blessed with subtle and deep characterizations, "Walk on Water" is one of the finest Israeli films of recent years

an intelligent film....in hebrew and german with english subtitles....probably too heavy for most of the people that post at fan forum....but it's one of the best films i've seen this year........

ah, i didn't know we had a new thread! i can't believe i haven't been posting here!

The preview posted a page earlier looks really good, I wish I had the money to rent it.

Saw Fight Club, it diffently had some slashy subtext going on in a few scenes.

i had the oppurtunity to watch 'liberty' the other night......it's about a group of friends and lovers....and what happens and how they react (along with their friends) when 2 of them discover that they have cancer......sad to say i didn't think it was a very good film....i found it emotionally empty......

hi....i saw 'walk on water' a couple of weeks ago.....the grandson is the only gay character in the film......the agent is homophobic.....without going into spoilers that's about all i can really say.....it's an interesting film......and it's a good film....probably one of the best that i've seen this year.....there's nothing like seeing a film in a theater....99.9% of the films that i see are seen that way...it would be nice if you could see 'walk on water' in a theater.....but if you can't at least see it when it comes to dvd.....

Anyone seen the german movie Summer Storm? I thought it was soooo good and advise anyone to see it.

I loved Lost and Delirious but i wasnt happy with the ending!

Kissing Jessica Stein was great, but again i didnt like the ending.

Heart Breakers club is a great gay movie, hot actors.

I really want to see Show me love, but they dont have it anywhere in the stores here. I want to see The truth about Jane too.

New bestfriend has a good les scene too

Thank you, I've been looking for that for a while.

A movie I just saw and think is amazing and beautiful is Yossi and Jagger. It's a film from Israeli, that is short, but just makes up for it in quality. Yossi and Jagger have a sweet, but deep love for each other. They balance each other out so well and are truly a complete whole. There this beautiful scene of the two young lovers playing in the snow follow by a romantic moment between them. I suggest it to anyone who loves movies, it's a real gem.

definitely....see it....imo it's one of the best and most interesting films that i've seen this year....

tomorrow or the next day i plan on seeing 'my summer of love'....
i've seen the trailer more than once and it looks interesting.....

poster and brief snyopsis below....

my_summer_of_love.jpg

Mona n English teenager dreams of escaping the village that suffocates her lively spirit. She has been alienated from her brother Phil since he became a born-again Christian and began turning the pub inherited from their late parents into an ad hoc church.

Mona's outlook brightens when she's befriended--and seduced--by the artsy Tamsin an affluent college student summering at her family's nearby estate.
