FUNIMATION (F Yeah)
And while you're at it just worship their feet.

Yeah, okay nevermind. WOO! Seto no Hanayome, oh excuse me, My Bride is a Mermaid is coming out here! Probably the funniest anime that GONZO has ever put out (and that is really saying something) Go FUNi!

(Now get the OVA's too)

No big surprise. I half expected FUNi to get this sooner or later.

I hope it's funnier in English. The few episodes I saw previously didn't do much for me, in all honesty.

Yeah, I enjoyed Baraboo Blade (shame, I never got to finish it, but then again I was late when I started the series), Tower of Druaga was awesome, and I never saw Blassreiter, and Dragonaut, well as much as I love Gravion and Makoto Uno's character designs, Dragonaut, well to tell you I just didn't like it

But anyway, I look forward to more announcements!!

Kadokawa found a distributor for Seto no Hanayome!!?

Awesome!! Kadokawa put this show in good hanRAB, and I know FUNimation's going to do a good job with this!!

I will be insanely giddy if their announcement is:

"We have started the dub of Rebuild. Yes, we hunted down the original Voice actors. Spike required a harpoon and a child eskimo.

This was harder than it sounded.

We heart whales.

Well Atlus blamed a delay on shipment of one of their games by their "supercomputer desiring manflesh" so anything can happen.

Well, I should mention that around the time this series came out, I was seriously burned out from Japanese animation. Thus, I would be up for giving it another shot.

Funimation has just acquired the rights to license Gonzo's 2007 comedy "Seto no Hanayome." The title will be translated to "My Bride is a Mermaid." It's about a young boy who is saved from drowning by a lovely young mermaid and must marry her in order to keep her mermaid form a secret.

I'm just curious to know if anybody has ever seen this series yet. I'd also like to know evreyone's thoughts on it.

As for me, I just saw the first ep, and I sadly did NOT find it enjoyable at all. Who knew that pretty mermaid was the daughter of the leader of a merman mafia?! Plus, I felt the characters were all far too insane for me to watch. That's not comedy, not to me.

I deeply apologize to any fans of this show I may have upset. If it's all the same to everyone else, I'll stick to One Piece and Negima.

I LOVE this show. I am amazed that a lot of people did not like this from the first episodes as this has to be the most hilarious thing that GONZO has ever put out. And considering some of GONZO's anime as of late, that's really saying a lot. Yeah, the insanity may get to a lot of people (It got to me at first anyway) but honestly, I don't think it could be any less insane because without it, the story wouldn't be nearly as funny as it gets later. This is worth the watch and worth the license as well.

I'm really glad to see Seto no Hanayome finally coming over to our shores, its about damn time.

It is definitely one of the best series Gonzo has ever put out, even though that is not saying much.

I can only see it being better as a dub, I personally hope they pull a semi-Shin Chan dub treatment. Of course the show its self is already pretty weird and over-the-top to begin with, but would be more enjoyable with a little bit of westernization, at least that is what I think.

Either way, it is going be amusing to hear the dub VAs singing in a few of the episodes, I have to say if anyone can pull that off well, it would be FUNimation.

Whoohoo! Now we're talking. I loved Seto no Hanayame. Luna's papa, especially. Well...except for the 'Moe!!' and post MOE!! eps. That was just...disturbing. On numerous levels. Oh god, I still remeraber the pantsu shot. *shudder*

To those expecting a romantic comedy...well it IS that, but it treaRAB more into the realm of parody and gag anime more then romance.

Another acquisition has been announced at FUNimation's blog: El Cazador De La Bruja, a 2007 series.

I haven't heard of this or Seto no Hanayome before, but I'll be interested to find out more and give em a look once it's release time.

It's part of BeeTrain's 'Girls with Guns' "trilogy". Noir and Madlax are the other two series. All three share some similar traits (Mostly...Girls and Guns, and yuri overtones). El Cazador's a LOT more light hearted then those other two, though. It even has a song about Tacos
