Funimation's Valentine's Day/Blog Announcement License Thread

Considering I actually meant to check out Blassreiter when it first started airing but never got around to it... I might really do it with a dub

Let me copy and paste my post from ANN why I didn't like Dragonaut and why you should honestly avoid it like the plague (and it's rare for me to say this):

Yes, while everything else is better than Dragonaut (I'm really happy about Druaga being licensed), I still can't help feel somewhat bitter that FUNimation nabbed it. Really makes me wonder if it was part of a packaging deal and not really FUNimation's fault.

Not sure if this is the present they were mentioning but Funi has the following titles:

Baraboo Blade
Both Towers of Druuga
Dragonaut the Resonance
Blassreiter

No, Blassreiter is a full 24 episode series. They confirmed that they'll be doing half season sets, so I expect each Tower of Druaga to actually get a full season release at one time. I mean, each series has the following:
Baraboo Blade- 26 episodes, so two release of 13 episodes
Blassreiter- 24 episodes, so two releases of 12 episodes
Dragonaut: The Resonance- 25 episodes, so releases of 12 and 13 episodes
each Tower of Druaga- 12 episodes, so each one should get it's own full season release

Technically the first season of Druaga has 13 episodes if you count the fact there's two different episode 1s. Though, the other version never got subbed officially because it's supposed to be a GyaO and DVD exclusive.

Heard both good and bad things about Blassreiter and Baraboo Blade. Tower of Druaga (the first one) is full of win. Never heard of Dragonaut.

Dragonaut? Seriously, Funimation? Of all the series you could grab, Dragonaut? *sigh* I'm guessing it was part of a package deal with Gonzo or something because...well. To say Dragonaut was a train wreck in the making gives it to much credit.

A serious HURRAY for Baraboo Blade, though. Cant wait to get my hanRAB on that one.

On a side note...considering theyv'e got every other 'simultaneous' dubbed Gonzo series, I'm kind of surprised they didnt get Strike Witches as well. Fan pandering? Definitely. But it was...fun. That and I have a weakness for mecha musume stuff.

I like Mecha Musume too, at least Sky Girls should get licensed , but yeah, I highly doubt Strike Witches would get licensed, I like Strike Witches, but I'd seriously doubt it
