So if you get the super channels and superstations you will lose wsbk because its moved to family 1. Thanks in advance.

New Channels always generate a lot of discussion so this thread is for discussing new channels in 2010.

You're welcome to speculate and discuss new channels coming to Bell TV in 2010 but PLEASE unless it's been confirmed by an official press release, be clear about what is speculation and what is fact.

A post saying "a CSR said it was coming" is NOT official, however, it does put it in the "highly" likely category.

If its posted on the CRTC site that its been approved by the CRTC but Bell TV has not said anything, I would consider that in the "not very likely at this time" category.

It's Marketing 101, some understand some don't.
Are you saying that Bell has screwed up by adding a no charge radio station or do you just want to argue either side.

Sex TV has not been good since Rogers sold it to CTV. Its the same programming and movies over and over again. I got rid of it over a year ago and I don't miss it.

Kindly resist the urge to express suppositions as categorical statements. The policies of Bell and the broadcasters are confusing enough as it is.

(By the way, ATN is not the same as APTN.)

I think they were too busy with the Olympics. I hope they remove those 800 soon....but with Bell patience is always needed....

julie, there's no technical connection between the 800's and the 1000's. Dropping the 800's won't necessarily free up any bandwidth for new channels.

Is no else surprised that three months into 2010 Bell TV has kept the fireplace channels up and running. Nice to hear and watch on a cold winter night.

It would probably cost more than $3.00. Bell isn't necessarily setting the price for these channels. Bell pays for those channels, and probably wouldn't make a profit selling both for $3.00.

They are most likely just Barker channels, which come and go all the time.

Zeste HD is on channel 1190, I don't understand why they put a french channel with the english channels instead of in the 1800s

Yeh that is strange. When they continued the Fireplace Channels after Christmas I assumed that it would be just a short time until all the 800 series channels were pulled off and so they couldn't be bothered removing the two channels. Now they've changed them over to something else. I guess they are still not ready to pull the plug. There must be some technical issue holding the shutdown up.

Nice images anyway.

Not sure that would even be possible, but who knows... You sure they didn't mean that by February 1st they will have 100 HD channels?

Bell claims to have over 100 HD Channels right now. Does this mean that on February 1st they will have 200 HD Channels. I don't think so.

Anybody know if BellTV will carry MovieTime HD? It is supposed to launch tomorrow.

I prefer Movietime to AMC. Even though they both have commercial interruptions, MovieTime shows the original uncut versions of movies unlike AMC which edits them for language.

The message about moving the channels has been there for at least 5 or 6 months. Some were told they'd be shutting down the 800s at the end of January, but it obviously didn't happen. So nobody really knows when.

Perceived value? By that logic, if the grocery store started giving everybody free milk forever, there would be an increase in perceived value and an increase in customer satisfaction. However, the price of all the other groceries would increase dramatically to make up for the free milk.

People who don't drink milk would complain, "But I don't use milk. Why don't they give away free eggs? Why should I pay more while someone else gets a free ride?"

Some would say, "That's discrimination against the lactose-intolerant."

A channel is a product, and isn't free to Bell. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Bell pays the channel people based on the number of people subscribed to that channel.

My original point was that it may not be cost efficient for Bell to bundle the two packages together, or to simply add it in to a News & Learning package.

No need to apologize, haystack, but thanks, anyway. ;)
