Yes.

So for all of us with News 1, basically Bell wants $3/mo for CNNi, and will not be packaging it into any of the themes.

Lame.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad for me. Right now we only have "More Movies" and that included the Drive-in Classics that we liked.
Are we loosing that channel now and getting a SexTV channel (called W movies)?
All a little confusing....

Anyone notice Bell's latest ploy? They create new packs with only one or two services and then charge for them as much or almost as much as they do for the older theme packs with seven or eight channels. Only rarely do they add new services to existing packs even when the new channel would be a good fit.

WSBK used to be a good channel when they offered bruins hockey, red sox baseball, and celtics basketball this is back when it used to be part of the UPN network but since it has become an independent the only thing it now really offers is College Basketball on the Weekends.

There have been four rumours this past month concerning new channels. Let's just see what's actually happened

1. Bell was going to add 100 new HD channels on Feb. 1: NO
2. Bell was going to drop the 800's on Feb. 1: NO
3. Bell was going to introduce a la carte pricing on Feb. 1: SORT OF A YES
4. Bell was going to add 5 dedicated channels for the Olympics on Feb. 1: YES

Unless something changes in the next few hours it looks like only number 3 & 4 have actually happened but number 3 only applies if you are in Quebec and is not pure a la carte.

Joys of speculation! Any guesses for March 1?

I'm hoping that the five channels will include coverage of the two hockey tournaments. Imagine being able to see a game without having to put up with non-stop blabber, instant analysis of the obvious and endless commercials and show promos. It would be like actually being in the rink.

I have Family one, and it doesn't show in my guide. Doesn't appear in my channel listing when modding my Favs.

Sky has the right idea in Ireland & UK, same satellites, most of the same channels, other channels based on your satellite card.

This is probably just wishful thinking on my part but wouldn't Channel 414 be a perfect spot for The Big Ten Network.

LCN HD (Le Canal Nouvelles) was in testing on and off at channel 1854...

That should be in the lineup soon.

It appeared in the Bell online TV guide for a while but was quickly removed.

hey is anybody actually getting Aljazera yet? Theres no 516 in our guide and I looked at the Bell tech site where they list all the xpdrs and stuff and it wasn't listed there either. So I'm wondering whehter its on a xpdr we can get. (We only get the 91 sat.) Tnx.

To clear up what will be happening once and for all, Corus has bought Sex TV and Drive-in Classics and are rebranding them as W Movies and Sundance Channel respectively.

What Bell is doing, is replacing the Drive-in channel in the More Movies bundle with W Movies and replacing Sex TV in the Lifestyle 2 bundle with Sundance Channel. Both channels would be a good fit in the more movies bundle but i'm assuming they don't want to shortchange the Lifestyle 2 bundle so they are giving it the one that hasn't got movies in the channel name.

I'm nott sure if NFL Network is approved for Canada or not? .

As for GOLTV HD its approved but not sure when it will launch. It should be noted thats the Canadian Version not the US version of GOLTV SD/HD we have in Canada.
Not sure iof the company that owns them but they also own Game TV & World Fishing Network, which I think? also have HD version approved, but have yetto launch.

As I had stated before, if the rumor of 20 HD channels was right and Bell was adding these all at once, all I could think of was that all Bell/CTV Globemedia channels would be launching. Which would be Muchmusic, OLN, Comedy Network, CTV News Channel, maybe another Discovery channel. Others that they own are MTV, MTV2, Star, CP24, BNN, Space, MuchMore, Bravo, and the NHL Network. NHL Network would be interesting in HD. They already have it in the US.

It was part of the E-Bill you have to look under the special messages option i believe to be able to read it. They used to have it just printed there but now you have to click on the option to be able to see them, which is kind of sneaky if you're not paying attention :)

ok, so then let's just call it poor planning or lack of foresight. Bell doesn't have the resources? Don't make me laugh.

I think that Bell could add atleast 10 New English language HD stations in the month of February. Two of them are most likely to be CJOH-DT and CFCF-DT. Others would likely include CHCH-DT, CBC New Now HD, CTV News Channel HD, etc.

I would think that they would add about 15-20 Olympic HD channels in a new group for the month of February...and really all they'll be doing is re-positioning them to make surfing the Oly's easier.

I doubt they launch any brand new channels in a month that most people will be watching the Oly's...it's too counter-productive.
