SCN was part of the digital standard package now that its gone I don't think that it will be replaced by another channel If it is replaced my suggestion would be Peachtree TV channel 294.

The Olympic channels will be available to all Bell TV customers. That confusing fine print applies to the "Save up to $300" offer on that same page.

I guess I have hopes that the CRTC will eventually be disbanded and we will be able to get the channels we want even at the detriment of canadian programming.

Just checked, and the aquarium channel goes "off air", then comes back on later. Whew... I was worried.

:D

Anyone know where CNNi is going to placed in the programming lineup once the preview period is done?

GINO CERULLO states
Do you think you are or will be getting better programming with INFERIOR Canadian counterparts of the US networks ?

Let's face it...it's all about money and "patriotic" politics ( protecting the fragile "Canadian Content" )?? What Canadian Content ?? 98% of Canadian productions are boring drivel. These re-branded Canadian channels import most of their interesting offerings from the US. So tell me..why do we need a Canadian version of the Space channel, or the Court Channel, or the History channel, or the Discovery channel or the Mystery channel .....ad nauseum...

Do you really thinlk this is protecting Canadain content ? BS...it's all about MONEY and busuiness duping the politicians in Ottawa and the inept CRTC to control their piece of the action. WE think we live in a free country, but Canada is so regimented with all sorts of bureaucracy and foolish regulations.

Let Canadian content stand on its own merits. If no one watches it - it means a lot - it's simply boring trash. Why do I need some bureaucrat (read Canadian businessman) telling me what I have to watch on TV or the internet ? If the US channels are more interesting, we don't need them re-packaged under a Canadian bannner in the guise of protecting Canadian content. Let the marketplace decide.

I agree with Gino that AMC is a big disappointment because of the ads, cuts and beeping. But what about the Canadian movie channels like Action, Diva, Movietime, Dusk etc etc - I can hardly watch them anymore. Their ads are cut into the most inappropriate times. Ridiculous. I refuse to watch any cut or ad-infested movie channels. There are plenty others that are commercial free and uncut - the TMN quartet, TCM, SilverScreen Classics, Wpix, MorePIX.

Can someone confirm if Gol TV HD is on BTV 1404? I saw it on "The List" not sure if its up linked or actually broadcasting?

I just saw an HD advert on CFTO-DT for The Secret Life of an American Teenager that airs on MuchMusic. I bet (and agree with prettysteve) that Much is one of those HD feeds coming in the next month.

For heaven sakes, obviously they can't add 100 HD channels in the next few months!

You are wrong...CTRC lets provides offer "a la carte" package. Videotron offers a Custom Package at lets you choice only the channels you watch.

Certain conditions apply:
"To respect CRTC rules, you must select a number of Canadian channels equal to or greater than the number of foreign channels you have chosen."

So why cannot Bell offer the same?

funny, i did get my bill but it didn't mention that. But as long has we get those channel mention by Spun14, that's fine with me.

According to Yoopa's Facebook, the channel was offered to BellTV but "Aucune entente n

Bell never seems to have its facts straight.

So, I just got off the phone with another Bell representative to confirm this "100 NEW HD Channels" claim, and they seemed to be dumbfounded.

What they explained is that Bell will add 20-30 HD channels around the date of February 1st. And, that was basically all they can tell me.

I really cannot figure out which is the right piece of information here, but I guess we will have to wait until February 1st.

The only thing that this representative was able to confirm is the move to from the 800s to 1000s, which will indeed occur on February 1st. And, that new channels will be launched around that time period.

Combed through the thread but didn't see anything posted on this.

Does anyone know if we'll ever see NFL Network HD and GoalTV HD come online? It seems like a natural fit if they have the bandwidth.

Which is wrong, of course, since we live in a communist society. ;)

You're saying that since Bell makes a profit, it shouldn't be allowed to make money on new channels. If that were the case, you wouldn't see any new channels at all.

(And the price would still probably go up).

I would call that UCS, Unwanted Channel Syndrome. Customer subs to Lifestyle 2 and discovers he has Out, or customer wants to sub to TSN HD and is told he has to sub to Sports 1.
