It was one of the best movies of the year.

I might watch it again. Im sure I would actually if it's length was shorter.

Yeah I totally agree. The feelings you get from this movie aren't enough to describe the emotion that you get from seeing it. It just...I can't even find the right words to say.

i cant believe it beat titanic in the box office this weekend... man james cameron knows what he is doing

Oh yes, yes, yes! :sigh: I know right?! It would explode all over the place yet we wouldn't give a damn because we are already addicted.

This movie is fantastic. I want to watch it again and in 3D, the first time I watched it I wasn't able to get the 3D room.

 I totally agree with what you just said.

I listen to Christian radio and a lot of the stations have been saying that it's good but they don't give it high praise because it deals with nature worship and pagan religion and all that stuff. Sure pagan religions deal with the nature stuff but it goes way beyond that. It didn't just deal with pagan religions but it dealt with others too. I just wish that some people would see that no matter how they worship, God is still God. People just relate in different ways.

The Navi, the creatures in the story, they had a deep connection to their world that is nothing compared to ours. I loved how they were able to use those tentacle like things to connect to anything that was natural.

Sadly our world has a way of destroying everything. We don't have the oneness of all like the Navi do. And because of the way we are some humans just refuse to acknowledge the problem or they try to believe that such a thing doesn't exist.

I seriously believe that as a people we're gonna destroy ourselves in the end and then there will be some that will come crawling asking why didn't we do anything.

The Navi, though ficitional, are people to be admired and respected. I'm a nature girl. Always have been. When I don't have my connections with the Earth I feel lost and confused. But when I'm out there in the wild it's like everything comes into focus. And it is like a spiritual kind of energy.

This movie was perfect because it had just the right amount of everything and it starts up great discussions like the ones we're having :)

I agree with this, that's the way I saw it too. I actually think it was a pretty fair representation of the greed of people as a whole, especially considering our world today and how massive corporations pretty much crush everything in their paths to rule and make more money.

Randomly, I also dislike how some people have been calling the film "preachy", in relation to the whole environmental aspect, because I didn't really see it as such. I just think that any sort of medium or text these days that has a message concerning the environment and how we're all destroying it will unfairly be called preachy, just because people don't like to hear about problems like that. But they're real and out there, so they have to deal with them in one way or another at some point.

I can't wait for the dvd either. It's gonna be insane.

My dad heard in an interview somewhere that one of the features/added scenes on the dvd is gonna be a full sex scene between Neyteri and Jake! Remember that scene in those special trees (ah mind block. Can't remember)- it was the scene where Jake said he had chosen a woman and then they started making out. Well obviously they went further but Cameron cut that scene out because he wanted the movie to be for everyone but it's definately gonna be a scene (whether added or deleted) in the dvd.

Yes. God help us when the DVD comes out. My DVD player will probably explode from multiple viewings. :(

^-Yeah I totally agree. While sequels are often nice, Avatar doesn't need it. It got the right kind of closure.

ETA-

So my dad got me the video game for Avatar! I can't wait to play it. You can either play as a human or one of the Navi. I honestly can't imagine playing as a human so I think I'll be playing as the Navi for the most part since I'm 100% on their side.

I went to see this yesterday with my family and have to say that I think it is probably one of the best films I've seen in a long time.

The storyline is brilliant and keeps you watching all the way through and I can see a lot of parallels in the film taken from our own world history.

I only saw it yesterday but I really want to see it again now :)

I'm usually really against 3D since it hurts my eyes, but this film, I think, can only be shown justice in that format. Watching it in 2D just wouldn't be the same.

Awww, thanks for the links! Those vids NEVER stop making me smile. :sigh: I always get gidd-er, gidd-er, and gidd-er every time I watch those vids. :sigh:

Here we come with Oscar! This movie better wins! It's epic that's incredible and everything you can't describe from its feeling and all. :sigh:

Sorry that you found the story disappointing :( I thought it was great! I did think the acting was a bit choppy, but I didn't expect oscar worthy performances so I wasn't let down.

The visuals were AMAZING. If it doesn't win an Oscar for that I want to know what will

I went to see this movie thinking that I was going to hate it, but I went anyway because I heard the visuals were amazing and I wanted to give my take on the movie along with everyone else, I'm glad I did because it easily because one of my favorite films of this year.

I can't wait until it comes out on DVD
