Awww, wow! That's great! As long as there's an actual sequel then there is it! We might rewatch this movie over and over till we get to see the second one.

Whoa! Three times?! I am jealous!

I watched TWO times. :pout: LOL. But wait till we get our hands on actual dvd that we'll watch them on repeat. :sigh:

We destroyed this world.
Its true.

I didn't think it was too long at all. I could handle one more hour.

That being said, BEST.MOVIE.IN 30 YEARS.

wanna start a request thread for our own board ?

I saw it in 3D IMAX last night. Blew my mind. The story was a bit predictable, but overall visually stunning and interesting.

I know I can't imagine not seeing it in 3-D. That is just beyond me. Unless they release a 3D version and provide the 3D glasses like they did with 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'.

I didn't see it that way at all. I mean they showed both sides: The side that doesn't care and just wants war, money, and power and the side that actually takes an interest and takes the time to understand.

Thats how our own Earth civilization has been. I mean take a look, at a very good example: The 1800's period when the Western civilization started coming and destroying the land that was belonged to the Native Americans. The US Army, for that time period was to destroy and "kill the Indian". I could go on and on about this because that's one of my favorite time periods in history because it was so tragic.

It was the same concept for this movie.

For the sake of that I was glad that the Natives, the Navi beat the "Westernized civilization". It was so cool to see the ones with the bows and arrows come on top for a change despite the losses that they faced.

I saw this movie Friday.

We pre-ordered our tickets in early December, and good thing we did, because it was sold out when we got there. We saw it in IMAX 3D and I will tell you now that there is no other way to view this movie. How they are going to transfer this to DVD or Blue-Ray is beyond me.

This story was definitely predictable, however I will say that even though it was predictable, the views and the scenery in this movie are not. The things they did were unimaginably fantastic and just the way they brought the story together via this other world/creatures/people.

I was a little biased about them having made us "Earth" people seem so mean and soulless, but for the storyline I guess you could say it was necessary. One of the other things I loved about this movie is that it didn't have any scenes that made me go "Why is that in this movie?". There are a lot of movies that have scenes that are pointless, but in this movie every scene has a point to the story and the movie as a whole.

It's a wonderful story, romantic and in a political moral sense too. It's more than just romance. It's about family, friends, life, and living for what you believe. This movie definitely is the best of 2009, and for me right now the best of the 2000's.

I went to see that movie today and omfg, that was some epic-shiz that's not even funny. :thud:

Everything to little details was so incredible. So beyond incredible. I love it. The whole storyline make me teary a little bit there but I am glad that things worked out the way they are in the end!

I think this movie officially is my favorite one out of all, deffff. I want to see it again! I can't wait for dvd to come out. :sigh:

Btw, the special effects are some epic-shiz that I agree with most of you guys there. So incredible. Love it!

I don't think there needs to be a sequel to this movie. Everything was covered that needed to be covered. The Natives faired pretty well, and I would guess everyone is happy with the ending we got for Neytiri and Jake. Everything doesn't have to have a sequel. Everything doesn't need a sequel. Personally, I like AVATAR being the one and only of this story.

disappointing in terms of story, but the effects are great. acting department is not good as well for the oscars. watched it twice for the special effects.

A sequel would be cool but this was also a great stand-alone movie.

And I would so want my own Avatar!

It would be cool if there was something online where you can upload a picture of yourself and then it transforms you into what your Avatar would look like.

I saw this movie yesterday.

It was quite good, a bit too long but it had a meaning that is absent from many modern films and that's what I liked the most about it.

the acting was also a big plus :)

How amazing that Avatar got the Best Director and Best Movie award at the Golden Globes- that's just incredible!

You guys can check out the vids here. The first one really starts at time 2:09.

I just love how he used the Na'vi language in his speech when talking to Weaver, Worthington, and Saldana.

I know what I want now- they need to come up with a book of the Na'vi language. That would be so cool!

ETA-

Found a video of the press confrence after the award show.

Love how James continues to confirm ideas for a second Avatar film. And you could tell Zoe is excited! (Aw but the downside is that Segorny Weaver won't be in it :( ) Loved the rest of the interview. James is such a wonderful speaker. I like a lot of the things he had to say and how he clarified that Avatar isn't anti-military it's anti the bad things the military does to gain access or power. And he was right, this film has a full-fledged marine as a main character but Jake looks at other options and realizes it's best to understand other cultures rather than push them out of the way.

Thought it was cool that Zoe took a Spanish question. Her Spanish was beautiful.
