AVATAR - An All New World Awaits

I think my main reason for not wanting to see it was because I thought it was gonna be the Avatar that was that whole Japanese thing. I don't know much about that Avatar so I just quickly jumped to that. Glad it wasn't.

It did a great job showing both sides of things: The people who want to destroy and those who want to conserve and protect. No matter how many times those stories get told they always convey a sense of deep emotion.

And then it had that other sci-fi aspect too where all the humans want to do is contain and take control of the other civilization but this wasn't their planet to subdue to begin with.

And I loved the reference to the gold rush. You had the business side of it that wanted that special rock but it was on native land and so what do they do, force the natives out by sending so many people that the only thing the natives can do is get out of the way.

It had such an 1800s settlers vs. Native Americans feel to it. At least that's what I thought about the whole time I was watching.

I still can't get over this film. It was just down right incredible!

I love my EB icon but I think it's time for an Avatar!

Glad you enjoyed it!! :)

There is talk of Cameron doing a sequel. However, Cameron stated on the red carpet at the Oscars last night that if he started work on the sequel tomorrow it would be 3 years before it'd arrive in the theaters and that he wasn't starting work on in tomorrow.

So, if a sequel happens it will probably be 2014-2015 at the earliest, which isn't heartbreaking for me since I've never been a huge advocate of a sequel. However, I have grown to accept that it may happen and in turn hope that it will be just as awesome as the first.

I just saw it a few days ago in 3D .I know it took me awhile to see it but I love it!!!

:sigh:

Just can't get over this movie. Seeing it again and it still felt as powerful as it did the first time.

While the effects and everything else were impressive, the part that still really draws me in is the music. Cameron was right to bring Horner back on board with this project. Forget the effects, forget the 3-D feel, it was the music that made me feel like I was there in the moment.

I always love paying attention to the scores in films and if they're instrumental scores all the better. Sometimes the music can be a character of it's own. You can just close your eyes and picture the events that unfold and that's what the music in 'Avatar' does.

If Cameron said about sequels, then I doubt it that he would have a writer's block for that since he promised half the world for making it second one.

And yeah I agree with you about technology, I hope that he has some more ideas in his mind about this one since this one should be good!

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this movie.

Anyway, I saw it last night. It was probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It was beautifully stunning. The visuals were absolutely amazing. The storyline wasn't Silence of Lambs, but it was very strong - emotionally engaging and exciting.

I will probably go see it again before the end of the year.

I enjoyed this part as well. They had a genuine respect for all things living.

I saw this on Saturday spur of the moment and fell in love. This is probably the best movie I have ever seen. Oh and I saw it in 3D :D

Okay so I wasn't really interested in seeing this movie. I debated over it and finally agreed to go see it with my parents.

Boy am I glad I did! It was beyond what I thought. I saw it in 3-D because it was an XD theater.

Those storylines are all the same: humans destroy other cultures without understanding them first but they are always so heartbreaking.

My favorite part was just how connected the people were to their world. They had a natural, spritual connection which some parts of our own world seem to lack. It was a oneness with all things, even the bad and scary creatures when it came to it.

And don't even get me started on the music. James Horner was the right man for the job when it came to the music. I'm glad Cameron was able to bring him over. The music was so emotional.

Okay and dude I would give anything to fly one of those pteradactyl creatures! Those were the coolest creatures out of all of them!
