I think Scott Capurro's excellent. Yes, he comes out with many lewd comments but at least they're funny. Better than some here-today-gone-tomorrow soap star.
The blond haired guy? Blatantly gay. I liked that repeating picture joke Wright did in the Private Eye Andrew Neil style.
I haven't heard that. They do bring on a lot of the same faces, i've often wondered if they struggle. Big committment of a week, not a lot of opportunity to plug, strong chance of alienating some of your fanbase or coming off thick and you might have to spend a week with Carol Malone.
I agree about Terry Christian, he can be a bit tiring, and he's hit and miss.
I used to watch it whenever i could(work permitting) and i generally quite liked it but there came the day that i actually went right off Matthew Wright himself.
I actually though he was coming across as a narrow minded, pompous arse.
I felt i saw the light with him and i have never watched him since.
Im not saying everybody in the show is as dire as i now see him....just him.
And since i had that initial epiphany other things just seemed to fall into place about him.
He has fallen way under the radar.
If his show was on at night it wouldnt last as long as it has.
I find Matthew Wright exceedingly sanctimonious. Like George Galloway, if a caller disagrees with him or gets the better of him in argument he talks over them and cuts them off.
He gets the same guests in all the time. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown's got a flippin' season ticket. And what's with the same people in the audience all the time?
Also he likes to criticise Jeremy Kyle for being low-brow but discusses topics like "Ladies: Does Size Matter?"
Its always gonna be a bit hit and miss as its on every weekday and is live, but its the best show before tea-time by a mile.
Some of the people criticising him take him too seriously and dont realise a lot of the time he is playing devils advocate and other times playing up for laughs. He often makes fun of himself though and admits when his own views are proven to be wrong.
He used to do it quite often , and has been criticized in the past [most notably on these pages] for doing so . I have noticed though since they came back from the summer break it's not happened yet - although he looks like he's been tempted once or twice it looks like he's a lot calmer about things lately .
I can't stand Lowri Turner, she butts into every conversation & talks endlessly about herself & her own experiences at any opportunity. I like Kaye Adams, she makes a great stand-in when Matthew is on (one of his many) holidays. Can't stand Richard Bacon.
Yeah i agree, I used to watch it when i could, but stopped because because it seemed the callers had to agree with him or he would hang up the call and make fun of them, it was really off putting. (I was actually watching the program when Matthew told the audience in 7/7 that he got information of bombs in London, so i guess i will always remember his show.), but I watched it the other day and he is a lot calmer in that respect.
I didn't find her annoying when she was first on, I liked the fashion/make up programme she used to do, and I remember her being on GM:TV the week after Diana died being really nice about Diana. Now she seems bitter and doesn't have a good word to say for anyone.
