Anyone Watch The Wright Stuff?

the other triplet is physically & mentally disabled i believe...she has mentioned her a few times but i think she prefers to keep her feelings about her private

One of my favourite shows of the week!
I loved it when they had Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Adventures) on the show a while back.
I just wish they would rerun it in prime time or show it instead of that dreadful Live From Studio Five so that I could get to watch it on a regular basis!

I've watched the show on and off over the years. Some of the topics have really dumbed down in recent times - sign of the times, probably. The guest panellists are often quite hit and miss as well.

Matthew has never been particularly tolerant of other people's viewpoints; he may think it's an amusing tactic and granted the occasional caller can be rather 'eccentric' but there are many with relevant comments who just get cut off mid-sentence.

I think the format has become a bit of a mess these days - far too much chatter, paper reviewing and intros, leaving them with barely ten minutes per topic. They should make more time for the discussions.

I think that's an excellent idea - to replace Loive from Studio Foive! :D:cool:

I really like Matthew Wright - he's funny, intelligent and attractive - what else does a TV presenter need really? *gets ready for the abuse!*

I adore Matthew Wright. I have a little crush on him :o

Can't stand Lowri Turner. Scott Capurro is fab, one of my favourite guests.

Did anyone know Amanda Lamb had a baby?! She never mentions her..

Yes, I do watch The Wright Stuff when I'm around but not always the whole programme - depenRAB on the topics. Agree with many of the comments about the annoyances and guests (and Matthew himself) but always seems to be worth watching some of at least.

Yep, two main topics rather than three, following the paper review, although what doesn't help since the revamp is the additional ad break inbetween the guest bit and the added brief discussion before the paper review.

I like the fact Matthew's turning into more of a grumpy old man, which means I agree with more of what he says, even though I'm a few years younger than him and I transcended to grumpy old man quite some time ago.

However, I would ditch the last topic as it's always ridiculously lightweight. My Mum reckoned that since it starts at 10.30, by then everyone's switched over to This Morning so no-one's watching anyway.

Yes, there's too much chatter these days. Then they cut to an ad break, review the papers for about two minutes and then head off for another ad break.

They need to get on with the actual discussions.

I've enjoyed Tracy Ann Oberman and the female poker player (not sure what she's called) this week. Dominic has annoyed me (especially about the child benefit issue).

I used to watch it, recently watched it again after about a year, and realised they get their topics from the more tabloid papers. Meaning the whole base of their topic could simply be untrue.

On one episode I watched, they were debating a topic (which I won't say what because it will definitely cause this topic to go off on a tangent) that was taken from a daily mail newspaper. That topic was only on the DM, when one member of the panel attempted to mention that, the Matthew Wright argued that the topic was on every newspaper (which wasn't true). He then began stating things that were on the article as fact when, anyone that knew the topic first hand, would argue was a lie (or a wild exaggeration).

Also, I don't really find that indian guy funny, I can't remember his name, nihal or something?

I used to, but then stopped when Matthew Wright started becoming arrogant. He might have changed now, but can't be bothered to find out.
