Anyone Watch The Wright Stuff?

Ian hasn't done it at all this series to my knowledge. It's always been Kevin O'Sullivan from the Sunday Mirror. I haven't seen Ian Hyland on the show in a very long time.

I can't stand him either, he's like a mouthpiece for the Tory party.

He made a comment this morning about how the welfare state doesn't work, yet, I seriously doubt whether he has ever been in need of the welfare state in his life.

He said that civil partnerships were a nonsense (really?, I doubt the thousanRAB of people who have entered them, don't seem to think so).

Something along the line of Jan Moir being right to question the cause of Stephen's death. Despite the fact that the coroner had already come to his verdict.

I've gone off Dominic Holland, since he described civil partnerships as 'a nonsense' I quite like Amanda Lamb on it, Terry Christian (to a point) and weirdly that Tory MP.

With regarRAB to this mornings Wright Stuff, but did anyone else seem to think there might have been a little tension between Matthew and Dominic this morning, when Dom asked Matthew why he wasn't at his gig last night (which Matthew was praising on Monday IIRC) with Matthew responding that his girlfriend was ill or something.

Nice to see Janet Ellis back on there this week.

Re. guests, I know that studio and I know the production company is desperate. Yes, and it attacts prats who want to get on TV.
Is Martina Hingis on this week or is it a myth?

I also doubt that he's on JSA and the time he's on the Wright Stuff panel is unpaid and he's told the Jobcentre about it. He said there are jobs out there and millions of people are coming to work here, a) There aren't jobs out there, not in my area anyway, and b) the recent immigration to my area would probably be in it's tens not millions.

Seems the same faces in the audience/ always have that jolly old fella with the glasses. Looks like a doctor. Maybe they are all out of work. Get off yer backsides and get a job as Jezza says....
Like the show but only watch when an interesting topic pops up. They usually talk about rubbish

God help us all!

What I in fact said was that I'd rather watch somebody more open to the views of others rather than a smug tw@ spouting their self-opinionated shite. This describes BOTH Jeremy Vyle and Matthew Wright. They are one in the same. The only things that need saving are my eyes and ears from having to look at his creepy face churning out the usual bile.

You didn't, but I just wondered why you even thought it necessary to say "blatantly gay". What does that matter? Since he doesn't make an issue of his personal sexual life, pointing out that he is blatantly gay simply because of the way he looks or the way he speaks and dresses is still indicative of a kind of old fashioned prejudice that I hoped we had moved beyond today. David Bull always comes across as a decent bloke to me. I don't support his politics but he's certainly on the sensible and compassionate side of the right-wing. I just would never feel the need to point the finger at someone I saw on telly and say "oh, he's obviously gay". That's the kind of comment I'd expect from a school child or an old bigot (like, I'm sorry to say, my own Dad would probably say). :(

I've watched the first half of this morning's show - I'm sad and I record them - and I agree that Andrew Cowles came across very well. Obviously doing something that he's uncomfortable and unfamiliar with to support and promote his husbanRAB last work. I find that very admirable.

Disagree. While of course a lot, maybe even the majority in reality, of gay people aren't camp and stereotypical, camp and effeminate blokes can often be gay. You can deny that all you want, but if you saw Gok Wan on tv for the first time and someone asked "do you think he is he gay?" i cannot believe your answer would be "i couldn't possibly say. In the 21st century we have moved on from such childish remarks, and i could only have an idea if i asked, otherwise it would be prejudice to assume." Baloney. In you're head you'd assume, just like i assumed of Bull. But stop looking for homophobia where it doesn't exist. It wasn't an insult, nor a compliment, just a gossipy observation.

But that is a whole other debate. Just came on to say how good Kaye Adams is, and how much of a tit Lowri Turner is!

Did anyone see the one with Yvette? One minute she seemed to be saying her channel was doing the MJ thing first, the next she was slagging it off! For a topic so close to her, it was frustrating to watch reasonable people like Matthew Wright and the panelists of that week take such a idiot seriously. And then for her tired old "lets make Britain GREAT again" line to get a round of applause....

I'm not quite sure what happened with Lowri Turner.......I don't recall her being so annoying when she first appeared on TV.

She is very unpleasant these days - some of her newspaper articles have been shocking.

I'll agree there. At least the 'extended chat with the guest' has gone, especially if it's not an interesting one, but with the 'top story' addition (which can easily be absorbed into the paper review), it means there's now an extra ad break and it slows the show down as it tries to get going, as the ad breaks seem longer than the segments! Given that for a while now it's started at 9.15 instead of 9, for me, I never get to see the paper review itself until after work, by which time it's just old news.
