Alice in wonderland- TIM BURTON. MARCH 5TH.

All great directors have their off days. This is Burton's.
It looks great and all the characters are solid enough, but the story is a mess. As this review puts it, it should've been called Alice in Narnia!!

Don't know about everyone else, but i'm already bored with this 3D nonsense. Less gimmickry and more focus on story!!

Closer than you think...

Burton and Depp have done a whopping 7 movies together whilst Scorcese and De Niro pip them at the post with 8.

By contrast Scorcese/DiCaprio are up to 4 whilst Burton/Bonham Carter are standing at 6.

Just got back from Cineworld earlier and they've still got all the giant promotional posters up. In fact, i think they've put up more of them since my last visit.

I sorta see what you mean about his accent, however is Accent is pitch perfect in Finding Neverland

I don't what is was but Anne's posture was annoying. It was obviously the way the character's posture is but it was doing my head in. Hand up in the air and gliding around like she dancing with an invisble partner.

I reckon this would have turned out better if Disney had zero involvement. Burton is at his very best when he's left totally to his own devices and doesn't have to answer to someone as huge as Disney. He's lucky they even let him do the 'sequel' idea even though they obviously still wanted it to be called 'Alice In Wonderland'. 'The Mad Hatter' might have been a better title.

I'm still looking forward to it, i'm kinda disregarding the mixed reviews. I remember one time just randomly seeing 'st trinians' (2007) and loving every moment of it, got home and read that it's the worst film of the year etc, yet for me, i loved it. So i guess it doesn't matter either way.

And btw guys, 2D version of it is being shown everywhere now. It's not limited :D

Just got back from watching this film and I absolutely loved it! Mind you, I always love Tim Burton films.. especially with Johnny Depp in!

One thing that has been bugging me is..

Were the Hatter and Alice supposed to be in love? Or was it just a very warm frienRABhip?
I might've got the wrong end of the stick but they seemed a bit too fond of eachother and he's old enough to be her dad!
:o
