Alice in wonderland- TIM BURTON. MARCH 5TH.

I didn't like it but back when i watched it, i never liked a lot of things considering my age and all. I;m keen to see it. Although i love the original too much.

Yeah, they were. In the original script (written back in 2007, so a lot of changes since then!), it was a lot more obvious. There's two kisses and a few hugs in it between the two of them.

Yeah!

My brother has just found out he is going to the premier and has got interviews with Tim Burton, Helena B-C, Ann Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska (unfortunately Johnny Depp won't be there).

I'll post up anything interesting he finRAB out.

I enjoyed this film a great deal as I am a HUGE Alice fan however for me
# Too much Mad Hatter (and I didnt care for the dance!)
# Not nearly enough March Hare and White Rabbit

I loved Barbara WinRABor as the Doormouse, she was amazing. Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat and Anne Hathaway were great and Helena Bonham Carter never fails to impress me. I think though my favourite character was Alan Rickmans Caterpiller, genius!
Unlike some other posts I thought Mia Wasikowska was perfect as Alice.
I would give it 7 out of 10

exactly, they are simply biting their noses off to spite their faces

well it is until 3D Blu Ray launches later in the year, even then the cinemas have a while until a lot of people have 3D TVs at home,so if i was a cinema company i would be making as much as they can whilst people dont have the choice

Just came back from seeing this and whilst the visuals were amazing the story was...well...a little 'meh'. It was almost as if they threw some worRAB down over a weekend. I was left disapointed from that aspects but like I said the visuals were very good.

They'll probably bring out a version on R2 as well but not sure. That one looks like a repackaging of the R1 "Masterpiece Edition" which also came out on R2 (but with less features).
I'll wait for a Blu Ray or get the R1 later as I can play R1 and Blu Ray on RA, B, C :D

I saw it in 3D yesterday. It wasn't worth it. The 2D version would be just as good if not better. The only 3D bit I thought that's great was a butterfly at the end.

It is close to CATCF so expect it to get slated. I liked it but expected it to be even darker than it was. The Mad Hatter was interesting but not Depp at his best. I found Tweedle' Dee and Dum annoying. I just couldn't get passed seeing them as Matt Lucas.
I also didn't link the Futtenwhack. If it was supposed to get a laugh it failed abysmally at the screening I was at.
The girl in the lead I really liked. She seems to be getting a lot of heat which I don't understand. I can see her going on to being a biggish star and not disappear after this film. I know Mamma Mia's Amanda Seyfield was linked with the part but she wouldn' have worked.
As Krypton Kal said, this was never going to live up to the hype and anticipation.
Obviously the story is different, but if you like Labyrinth starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie you'll probably like this.
I would give it 7.5/10

Edit:

I forgot to mention this film is rated 12A but the woman in front of me brought her two grand children both younger. The youngest was a girl of 4 and she loved it and found some of it funny.

i was stunned whne it said based in alice in wonderland and alice thorugh the looking glass So which bit were which?:confused:

why not just remake the book laice in wonderland.... why did it have to be a sequel with two books was this not enough...

this was totally s h i t i thought, and wanst the book written when lewis carol high as kite on drugs?:confused:

It certainly does look amazing, there was an excerpt of it when we went to see Avatar (another totally amazing movie)

I think it's released on March 5th isn't it.

It cracks me how many negative reviews i've read but you only have look at the incredible box office performance it's having. Not bad considering the hype wasn;t even half of what Avatar got.

It's weird because i actually didn't want to like Alice, don't ask why, but in this film there's something about her (or the actress?) that you find kind of captivating. She's very unique to look at too (i thought).

I think Alice is meant to be about 19 in this movie, not 100% sure on that.

I loved it, i saw it in 2D and want to go again and watch it in 3D.

Ahh i'll guess i'll have to wait for the original wonderland then. :(

Yeah, the film has had very mixed reviews, but tbh, Out of Avatar & AIW- I prefered AIW. Simply being that it wasn't the same old sceneary all the time. I like change and colour and light humour- and AIW did just that.

Like i said, i'm planning on seeing the 3D version soon, so hopefully i'll enjoy it more. I think the DVD will be out by July seeing as Disney were in a rush to get it out.
