Alice in wonderland- TIM BURTON. MARCH 5TH.

They shouldn't have called it Alice in Wonderland, I agree. All it's done is confuse people. They should've gone with something like, Return To Wonderland (although, that is perhaps a bit too similar to Return To Oz).

Saw the trailer and it did nothing for me. Looked exactly as you'd expect. A little bit Burton by numbers. But then Burton blows hot or cold for me anyway.

And it surely can't be as bad as Planet of the Apes, can it?

I agree with pretty much all of this. Alice's return and demolition of the proposing lord was a bit of a damp squib. I hadn't realized that in the original script there was a lot more attraction betwen Alice and the Hatter - that might make a bit more sense of her alleged transformation, which in fact doesn't amount to much.

I thought she (and the film) looked lovely though. Matt Lucas was brilliant - I can't think why no one else seems to have commented on him. And all the voice overs were great.

Yep it is mentioned in the dialogue before she goes to Wonderland.

I'll be interested to read your thoughts about whether you think the fim was much better in 3D or if it doesn't improve the film a lot and is worth doing.

I'm sorry, did Odeon have a part in making the film... why do they think they have a RIGHT to treat someones film in that way. Just show the bloody films and live with the time frame lowered.

Morons.

It is a royal shame, I've been waiting for this film for months, and am a loyal Odeon 'customer'. I'll have to go to Cineworld to see this then, but what I hate the most is missing the IMAX version (Odeon have an IMAX screen in Manchester).

I'm really excited about seeing this..it was my favourite film as a kid, and I'm an massive Tim Burton fan, it's gonna be so epic. :D

Should anyone be interested, Tim Burton's due to appear of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross of Friday 26th February. To be fair, Burton rarely does interviews so it should be a great and fascinating interview. :D

Reaction on Twitter to Odeon is about 95% negative.

I think Odeon just need to accept this and move on. They are lucky Disney is a studio that is trying to find a solution that gives them a 12 week theatrical window.

Other studios have been mooting 'limited runs' like This Is It's original 2 week window, followed by quick DVD releases.

according to all the cinemas its a PG

I Loved it and for me the 3D added to the story,it helped to transport you into Underland and was used in the way it should be used,to help tell the story not pokey pokey slashy slashy gimmick, the film itself might not be Burtons best but it was really enjoyable

Don't bother, saw it at the IMAX last weekend and I thought the 3D was very poor especially compared to Avatar which I saw there a few months back, it was really nothing special.

That's the second time recently that you've equated box office with quality. But they don't necessarily correspond. Big films like Avatar and Alice in Wonderland are always going to do well at the box office.
