They had her wear a chubby suit for it and of course glasses... She is so ****ing cute in it :)

The movie isn't that special but Meryl's role and performance were brilliant. She can shine in totally crappy movies. And maybe that's why she is an amazing actress.

Yeah, Ryan Gosling was great in Half Nelson--I think the main problem he has in actually winning is that the movie is super tiny which means the voters probably didn't even see it and also the movie wasn't that great. His performance though was amazing, as are pretty much all of his performances..anyone seen the Believer--he was insanely good in that movie.

^^oh for gods sake get off your soap box and go watch crash (wost movie ever made) or something...

i didnt want jennifer hudson to win because Adrianna Barrazza Brilliant...simple as that

and i didnt care whether or not eddie won

Dreamgirls is a terrible movie either way

oh god Crash..you should've seen me when that won:mad: ..i should've had someone videotape it lol

and yeah Jennifer Holliday was great in the brroadway version. the 1982 tony performance of AITYING is on youtube if you ever wanna watch.

If the Best Actress category didn't have as many great actresses in it this year, i would've wanted Jennifer Hudson to get nominated in that. Because I love Anika Noni Rose and would've loved to see her get Supporting Actress for DG

I would have taken Letters From Iwo Jima out of the best picture category and put United 93 in its place. I don't think Letters should be in the best picture category because it is in a foreign language. I guess United 93 proves that Hollywood is ready for 9/11 based movies.
I'm glad that Dreamgirls didn't get a best picture nod. I can't believe it has 3 songs in the best song category.
Children of Men should have gotten more nominations.

Controversial people got some love from the voters. Gibson and Borat both got nominated.

The only real problem I have with Streep's nomination is that it should have been in supporting instead. But I agree--Streep should be nominated for everything she ever does--she's that good.

I couldn't get how long they ran over, lol.

I loved Ellen hosted, but agreed with the person who said, they didn't give her much to work with. I would have liked to have seen more of her.

I liked the opening segement with everyone talking...especially Leo.

I liked the Jayden/Abigail presenting together, talk about adorable!

I liked Leo DiCpario and Al Gore talking about the Oscars going green, that was just great.

I liked Melissa Ethridge winning, and thanking Al Gore.

I knew Forrest had it in the bag, but I was still holding out for Leo. But, I know his day WILL come. Just like Scorsese, always being passed over, and then, walla. Leo's just way too talented to not be full recognized, someday.

i love "Listen" YouTube - Listen-Beyonce(live from Oprah show) i think this is her best live performance of it so far, the ending of it , she osunds so good. I think the Oscars, with the dreamgirls songs, they might perform all the songs together on stage. I was watching E! News and they interviewed Jennifer and she said they were working on doing a performance together for the Oscars.

ETA:And the best picture Oscar goes to... - 2007 Academy Awards - MSNBC.com they predict Babel to win:( i hope they're wrong lol

You're probably right, Jacob. Although I think Leo's performance was stronger and more prominent in Blood Diamond, The Departed was a stronger movie and would have helped Leo along. Well, maybe some day...

Freddie, Ellen with Marty and Clint was so funny.

I don't mind that indie movies get nominated for awards but they should be available for everyone to see.

*smackhead*! Yes, thank you, I dont know why I thought it was her first movie, I had seen her elsewhere! Ive not watched those movies but Ive seen bits and pieces!
I watched her interview with 'the view' some time ago and she was very mature, and funny, and shes very different from how she looks in LMS.

I would have given the Oscar to Leo for The Aviator rathern to Jamie Foxx for Ray. Jamie Foxx was nominated for Collateral and should have won for that.
Babel and The Departed both come out on DVD in the coming weeks leading up to the Oscars.

Does anyone know who actually gets the Oscar when a film wins best picture? I've always wondered about that. Are the people who are the producers of the movie the ones who get the Oscar?

She did. I'm sure Jennifer let her have her moment, too. I'm not Beyonce's #1 fan but she did deserve some spotlight as well. She looked STUNNING tonight. Incredibly beautiful that girl.

Cereal Killer It was until they sort of didn't know what to do they started looking really nervous. Like they realized that they were standing in front of the world.

I loved that they came down holding hands because I would've done the same thing if me and a buddy were you know, casually presenting an Oscar. ;) It's sort of a "please, hold my hand" security thing. Well, it would've been for me. :D

I'm rooting foir Martin Scorsese and for Little Miss Sunshine.

Martin Scorsese is a wonderful director and The Departed was his best movie in years.

Little Miss Sunshine is adorable. :)

I saw Water some months ago, I couldn't even believe it was nominated for best movie in foreign language. It's a canadian movie but the action is placed in India and it's about a group of widows in the early 20th century, I think.
Traditionally, when the husband died, the wife had two choices: she could kill herself or she could live the rest of her life in reclusion. The most awful thing of it all was that sometimes parents would marry young girls with old men and if the husbands die, the girls would be widows and would never be able to live in society.
I liked the movie, but I think "Volver" was far superior.
