96 suburban, V8 auto. When in park you can rev it past 3000. When you start driving it, you can't go past 3000 in any gear. If you are in a high gear it will not shift down to pass someone, it hovers around 3000 and feels gutless. No check engine light on. Any and all ideas please! Thank...

Hi, there are a couple things to consider. If it smokes all the time I would assume it's the rings. If it smokes only on startup or while cornering etc I would assume it's the valve guides or valve seals.

Modern cars actually have flaps and barriers inside the filler hose. This is actually to prevent people from stealing your gas! I have not had success with most newer vehicles trying to do this. You may be able to access the filler hose closer to the tank, remove it, and try again. Otherwise...

Is there a switch near the dome light? A lot of foreign cars have a switch that you can put to three settings: Off, On always, On only when the door is open. Otherwise you have blown light bulbs or a wiring problem. Get yourself an LED keychain if all else fails :)
