Your Music "Range"

Every kind...from classical, opera, and showtunes to country, soft rock, and pop to hard rock, world music, and hip-hop. I like songs from almost every genre I can think of. Just depenRAB on what's good, not the whole genre.

OKay keep relying on those credible sources to decide what music you listen to.That doesn't mean that ALL his music sucks and it only sucks to you and thats YOUR opinion.

lol Are u serious? So if ur an artist and you don't play instruments then you can't write music?? lol That was really retarded and its sad if you really believe that. Anybody can write lyrics. You don't need instruments to write lyrics. Once again your just basing YOUR opinions on the only MJ music you've heard. You haven't listened to all his music so whats the point of saying, "his lyrics are crap, this and that... when your only judging one thing and also your relying on "credible sources" to make ur assumptions instead of exactly going out and buying the man's record. LOL is this an english class now? I'm just talking man and spitting the truth and opinions. You said all of that 2 prove what? Your still wondering off topic talkin about crap, so what? Your posts give me a headache to I feel ur pain. What you need to learn is everyone has an opinion and their own taste in what they prefer in music. You just need to accept peoples opinions and stop bashing them and the artist especially if you know little facts about the artist.

No I wouldn't and I've said McCartney and Lennon have written plenty of shit lyrics before.

See urbans post.

I'm very sure I'm not the only one who thinks those lyrics are bad. Anyway Lyrics I consider good:

Over the moor, take me to the moor
Dig a shallow grave
And I'll lay me down
Over the moor, take me to the moor
Dig a shallow grave
And I'll lay me down
Lesley-Anne, with your pretty white beaRAB
Oh John, you'll never be a man
And you'll never see your home again
Oh Manchester, so much to answer for
Edward, see those alluring lights?
Tonight will be your very last night
A woman said: "I know my son is dead
I'll never rest my hanRAB on his sacred head"
Hindley wakes and Hindley says:
Hindley wakes, Hindley wakes, Hindley wakes, and says :
"Oh, wherever he has gone, I have gone"
But fresh lilac moorland fielRAB
Cannot hide the stolid stench of death
Fresh lilac moorland fielRAB
Cannot hide the stolid stench of death
Hindley wakes and says:
Hindley wakes, Hindley wakes, Hindley wakes, and says :
"Oh, whatever he has done, I have done"
But this is no easy ride
For a child cries:
"Oh, find me, find me, nothing more
We are on a sullen misty moor
We may be dead and we may be gone
But we will be, we will be, we will be, right by your side
Until the day you die
This is no easy ride
We will haunt you when you laugh
Yes, you could say we're a team
You might sleep
You might sleep
You might sleep
But you will never dream,
Oh, you might sleep
But you will never dream,
You might sleep
But you will never dream."
Oh Manchester, so much to answer for
Oh Manchester, so much to answer for
Oh, find me, find me,
Find me,
I'll haunt you when you laugh
Oh, I'll haunt you when you laugh
You might sleep
But you will never dream.

You didn't read what I said, all I found on Michael Jacksons supposed instrument skills was he played "multiple instruments" I've seen no mention of which instruments ever which leaRAB me to believe he doesn't really play any.

Okay I guess i'd best start replying I was hoping you wouldn't completely ignore the latter half of my post but I guess that's too much to ask for from someone who can't even spell you or your.

Actually you know what after reading that i'm really not going to bother, half your points aren't even coherent or remotely countering. You don't even back up half of what you say you just go  wrong! He plays tons of instruments but not even I can list what they are! So you know, how about you learn to reply in a semi-intelligent manner before replying at all. Maybe then I'll bother with a response, until then you can listen to Black or White and think you're hearing a sonic revolution.

The best part of your argument is that you're angry about people "underrating" michael jackson as an artist and that you also accuse people of not being open and accpeting to other people's views and opinions on music.

Did you ever stop to think that, gee,
maybe not everyone has to think that michael jackson is good
or even like him the least bit?

Think of it like this,
pick a band that you really dislike
now imagine a fanatical advocate of that band telling you all the reasons you are wrong for having an opinion that differs from theirs, and that said band is amazing and you're just not getting it.

No one wants to hear their opinions discredited,
so stop telling people that their ignorant of his music.

I wasn't talking about lyrics. I was talking about music. That's the usually structured thing you hear behind the singing and the lyrics. So you admit he only writes the lyrics. Well it isn't that hard to prove a good lyricist writes good lyrics all you have to do is post them. So post those good lyrics Michael Jackson supposedly writes.

hello, i think this is like my 2nd or third post or something, ah well, i felt this was a good topic to get the ball rolling again. I love a lot of music and artists. I don't think I have the widest range but for only being 20 I feel that may change over time. Right now I like everything from dylan, beatles, to electronic artists, I.E. aphex twin, caribou etc., and some (real) hip-hop. Probably not the most shocking taste in the world but hey.....however, I am always discovering new music and finding out I like different genre's. Lately I've been trying to discover some good reggae. Don't know how far I'll get with it. If anyone feels like pointing me in the direction of some good reggae artists that'd be grand....
