Your fave FOREIGN LANGUAGE movie??

Indeed it was, but wasn't the scene with the razor blade in the bathroom even more bizarre and shocking and... well, painful? I must admit that's when I knew The Piano Teacher was going to be a tough watch, even for an Isabelle Huppert fan.

- Another for Amelie!
- Goodbye Lenin! (Yann Tiersen does the music for both this and Amelie -- really fantastic)
- Ghost In The Shell
- Jules et Jim
- Ghost in the Shell

Got my fingers burnt a bit with Baise-Moi. Sure, the material was a bit risque, but I expected something more of a gripping story behind it... Perhaps it lost something in the subs.

Yet another reason to improve my French!

Thought I'd keep this thread alive, makes a nice change to have a thread without any trolls and flame wars. :)

Just watched '36' with Daniel Autreil and Gerard Depardieu, both on absolulty stunning form, I'd recommend it.
A load of new DVRAB have fallen through the door so I've got a 'heavy' weekend ahead..plenty of vodka and hopefully some class films to watch.
Here what 'plopped' through the letterbox, I'd be interested if anyone has seen them and what did you think?? :)

In addition to the ones I just mentioned above, I suddenly saw a copy of "Mephisto" while walking round HMV looking for LinRABey Lohan films for my 7 yr old daughter (yes, I know) .
Mephisto is one of my all time favourites with Klaus Maria Brandauer in a stunning performance. He is such an underrated actor.

Massimo Troisi, who also wrote and co-directed the film delayed vital treatment for a heart condition so he could complete the film. He suffered a fatal heart attack less than a day after the film was finished

My recent favourites are Ring 1 & Ring 2, but my all time favourite has got to be La Cage Aux Folles with its brilliant acting & its extremely funny! :)
