Which country (within the Anglosphere) makes the best music?

It's obviously Canada, majority of my music comes from Canada, followed closely by Australia (i am aussie). UK is a fair enough winner, no idea why the US is so high.

I know this probably undermines the point of this thread, but thinking more broadly for a second, I kinda feel that music, and indeed, creativity and art can, and has in the past transcended regional differences, countries, whatever... thats kinda the joy of music, it can be such a universal language for so many... it speaks to this half german half Australian living in the USA, anyways...

So in that context it kinda feels a bit irrelevant to say the best music is from this country etc etc... because great music can come from anywhere...

So, with that higher thought in mind... its still kinda fun to compare though! Ahhhh, good ol' human nature!

This really cracked me up. ><

Uh, most of what I listen to is in the Electronica genre. Even though that has a fair amount of good artists in the US, I think UK would have the slight edge here.

On the other hand, there's alot of banRAB/artists from other genres that I enjoy from the states (though I'm not gonna go and make another list). As for non-electronica banRAB in the UK such as Oasis, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, etc. I personally don't care much for many of them. I don't hate them or anything, I can listen to them just fine...they're just 'meh' in my mind.

So in the end, my vote will go to the U.S.

^ I thought you were trying to say that you could only think of two Australian banRAB and hence Australia doesn't have any good music. I think other people might have thought this, too.
