What's the worst film of all time?

Agreed - I couldn't believe what everyone thought was so good about this.

Amazing special effects - yes...but no substance to it.

Assuming you didn't cheat ... the bonus marks are yours!

I must be in a good mood ... I've let you off with the fact that it was 'Color' not 'Colour'

I'm going soft ... a bit like Bruce's winkle in the film. Apparently he INSISTED on keeping it in (so to speak).

Utterly utterly dreadful plodding potboiler of a film. By a fantastic irony the next entry is his filmography is Pulp Fiction :) .

Weird!

The Matrix had one of hte most interesting story lines I have ever seen. It's fairly complete too. Yes there are holes in the plot, but it's a movie, not reality.

The special effects were awesome. That is true, but this movie was more than FX.

Oh well, veryone is entitled to their own opinion.

The problem seems to me that most films are simply over hyped, it's not unknown that post production costs (i.e. Advertising/promoting) can amount to 30-50% of the production costs. This "over" promotion can only lead to disappointment.

It had great critical aclaim but did anyone actually enjoy 'A Beautiful Mind'. I watched the clock almost as much as the screen.

Avengers.....worst movie ever by far imho. Was dragged along to see it by a mate who wouldnt listen to me about how bad it would be stating "The trailer looks great". Now its just a shame the trailer was in fact the opening sequence and the movie never came anywhere near that level

well the plot was ridiculous, it took ages to get going, when it did it was like "wow, this is interesting, not", the acting was appaling (ok, i'll kinda let the kiRAB off for their acting cos they're kiRAB but the adults, come on!) and it was just corrupting people's heaRAB and making them read crap stuff like Potter instead of good stuff like Lord of the Rings (which was a good book but the films suck)

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Return of the Living Dead, The Beyond, Dawn of the Dead and Zombie Flesh Eaters are some of the *best* movies ever made.

One of the worst movies I ever sat through was a French film called Les Amants du Pont-Neuf which had a great trailer but was an ordeal to sit through. I've thought the same about many Peter Greenaway films with the absolute exception of The Cook The Thief His Wife and Her Lover which is great.

Too often in such surveys people only think of movies they have seen relatively recently. So come on, dredge up some slurry from the past.

Richard.

Surely it's got to be the TV version of 'The Shining'. Stephen King wrote a classic book, of which Kubrick made a classic film, of which King decided to make a complete pile of crap.

The acting was up to CrossroaRAB' standarRAB, and the best bit has to be replacement of the immortal scene where Jack Nicholson axed through a door grinning with his 'Here's Johnny', which has been turned into the bloke opening the door and exclaiming 'Boo'. Which makes everyone cringe, I suppose.

The only redeeming feature is that they don't have the woman with the most laughable face ever playing Wendy.

Couldn't agree more with all that. I found it a very manipulative film. "Hey, let's make that little girl really heartbreaking - and put her in a *red* dress" is like something from a car advert... Oh, yeah...

I can't believe Spielberg had the gall to complain about Benigni.

Worst film of all time?

Splitting Heirs

The English Patient... God Almighty I cant remember what it was all about and I probably didn't know what was going on at the time either. Didn't half of it repeat itself or something??
