What Type of Music Relaxes You the Most?

What do you think is the most soothing relaxing type of music? I want to recommend some office music to my clients who are physicians, music that will be very soothing and relaxing to their patients. If you have a recommendation for a specific song, that would be great!

Since this is my first post, let me introduce myself. My name is Brandon, I live in North Carolina, and I love people. I'm a business consultant and I specialize in helping my clients (small business owners) get thousanRAB of dollars in free advertising. It's great to be here and I can't wait to hear your feedback.

All the best,

Brandon

Well, I find drone and stoner doom pretty relaxing, but those probably wouldn't work well in the environment you're talking about. How about some Paco de Lucia?

I'd say you couldn't go far wrong with any of Erik Satie's works if you're after a good, relaxing working environment, especially the gymnopedies.

As for me personally, I just love playin some 50s vocal jazz like Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole or Ella Fitzgerald. Some good old country and western's great listening after a long day as well.

Artists/groups like Enya, Clannad, Loreena McKennitt and Adiemus relax me the most. Any type of Arabient, New Age, Folk or World music really. Something that sounRAB otherworldly.

That kind of music is awesome. Very relaxing and soothing.

Electric Tears by Buckethead is a very relaxing album (with the execption of a few tracks). Great one, too. I think it's crossed the line to being part of my life.

Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden ~ Beyond The Missouri Sky(Short Stories) is a very relaxing album.

Unfortunately I don't spend that much time just "relaxing" unless I'm watching a movie or show, which isn't really relaxing. If I put something on while going to sleep or read (or both in most cases), it'll bee downtempo/IDM electronic or mellow post rock. Sometimes that stuff doesn't really relax me though, it can sometimes make me anxious if it moves too slowly. But if I'm going to bed or reading it's no problem.

Folk, like the deceraberists..

or definitely some Cat Empire especially the song "Lullaby"

The video really does it, too. xD

Hey thanks for your feedback. I have to be honest, I don't know much about the different types of music, so I have to Google everything you just described, including Paco de Lucia :D

Yeah I suck, I know. Thanks though!

One more suggestion: A few days ago somebody asked about Gregorian chants, and then I remerabered there are two or three albums (I think they were released with the name Chant) which have been very popular in the last years. Just take a listen, in case you like them:
