What Type of Music Relaxes You the Most?

some post-rock is very relaxing.

and much classical, particularly piano things. Ludovico Einaudi is my favourite.

also, alot of folk can be relaxing, mainly the acoustic guitar, like john martyn, martin simpson, or john renbourn.

Gregorian chants? Really? I think that stuff is dreadful

Anyway, it's dead week for me and I've been listening to nonstop Pinback and Jack Johnson as a kind of arabient background noise for studying.

Classical piano, definitely. I'm a pianist so there's really nothing more appropriate I think. Also sometimes really obscure stuff like stuff you'd hear at a Cirque du Soleil performance.

I listen to Myself breathing. I dont listen to music when I want to be calm, I listen to my heart, and my breathing.

No Im kidding. I listen to Cake. I dont know, his voice makes me calm.

Usually instrumental music. For example, Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts I-IV used to help me sleep for over a year. Still can. I had some of the best sleep listening to all four Ghosts.

Whenever I've had a real bad day I just put on some Brian Eno and all my worries go away :thurab:

Basically operatic and classical is how I chill out. I throw in some piano-driven downtempo songs, electronic / chillout tracks, and things of that nature depending on my mood, but classical and opera is definitely what I listen to when I'm stressed and really need to relax.
