What is the most Shocking Scene?

Ray Winstone dishing out domestic abuse in both LADYBIRD LADYBIRD and NIL BY MOUTH is extremely shocking.

MERMAID IN A MANHOLE is an extremely sick asian film in the guinea pig series-a woman rotting away and puking up live worms is damn sick.

SCRAPBOOK-truly harrowing rape scenes even more so than IRREVERSIBLE.

MURDER SET PIECES-infanticide, cannibalism,necrophilia-you name it, it's there.

SALO is grim viewing too.

The scene in Priest where the father is very calm and is explaining that that raping his teenage daughter is no big deal because it's what all fathers really wanted to do; if only they were honest with themselves.

That gave me the serious heebie jeebies for ages afterwarRAB.

The gang rape scene in Man Bites Dog. Good film and very black humour, but that scene was really disturbing, which, I suppose, it was meant to be. The film basically turns the moral questioning onto the viewer, making you wonder why you're watching such scenes.

The nightclub scene in the beginning and the rape scene in Irreversible...

I saw a British film at the Edin Film Festival with Danny Dyer in it, it was called The Great Ecstasy Of Robert something or other.
Without going into details it was the most shocking and horrible end scene I'd ever seen.
There was a Q&A in the cinema afterward with the Cast and Director and audience. I didn't stay, I escaped with everyone else, but I heard that the press gave the Director a very hard time.
The film was never properly released...I don't think.

The scene in the real life chenya where the russian gets a boot to the head his throut cut real close up and he gargles blood. Theres a few of these real life killing but this one was disturbing because it was slow.

However, seens like this dont shock me and more Ive seen so much of it you get desensitised.

From your post history it seems you enjoy putting people down who watch movies with strong content, who work in the sex industry and who drive over 70mph on the motorway.

So as you sound like a dodgy old pensioner perhaps your comments are best kept for the threaRAB on local radio

Murphy getting shot to pieces in Robocop.

Joe Pesci and brother getting beaten to death in Casino.

Most of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Salo and Bundy.

I was just thinking the very same thing myself - the scene from The Crying Game where the two main characters are about to have sex is defintiely the most shocking scene I have ever watched (will not mention specifics, as it is a rather nifty plot twist!!)

... and by the by, 75% of my DVD collection is gore and horror, so I guess it just depenRAB on your perception of shocking, I guess...

Has anyone else noticed that most people's 'most shocking scene' somehow involves either rape or molestation...??

I love video nasties and the like but I don't really find them that shocking any more.. this is perhaps proof that I have built up my resistance to such things...

To counter Stockport's opinion that anyone who watches that sort of film should be locked up, I am quite a timid person in real life and I believe that because I cannot deal with agression in real life, my outlet is to watch these films. I don't think I need to be locked up, I just enjoy watching Exploitation. It's better than me going out and acting out that sort of thing - it's the people that go out and DO these things in real life that should be locked up... Anyway.. that was a bit off-topic, so I shall cease my ramblings, now...

I saw the original I Spit on your Grave and the full rape scenes were really disturbing and upsetting, saw it on horror Channel and they cut most of it out. Although Texas Chainsaw Massacre the beginning was funny the bit where the crazy guy cuts both his uncles legs off to "balance them up" made me feel a bit freaked. Main thing i remember was Faces of Death where a little monkey had its head bashed in by some "diners" and was screaming on the way from the kitchen, the only solace i get from this is being told many times it was bull and the monkey they battered was fake, please god let it be true. anything with crue;lty to animals makes me cry for days, i hated the bit in the ring where the horses died, and the Fly 2 where that poor dog was kept in a observation room in pain and unable to even eat, oh im off again :(. Hostel didnt really bother me because the characters were sterotypes. The sunbed scene in Final Destination 3 was quite sadistic i agree.
