Wall E

And so you should be, it's a fantastic film - a great antidote to these cynical and depressing times.

BTW, please let us know what you and your daughter thought of it. :)

Wow some of the comments on here have me baffled.

Who would have thought that an animated film about robots could have such a wonderfully human story? Everything about WALL-E and EVE was perfectly done - my boyfriend spent most of it pointing out the way EVE's body language and expressions were the same as mine! (Wish I had that laser gun for an arm, too :) )

If I wasn't in fits of giggles I was ooooing and awwwing - and the rest of the cinema was the same. Hell, I'd even happily pay money just to see the brilliant pre-flim short, Presto!

This is setting new heights for Pixar and is definitely their best film yet. The others (especially Nemo and Monsters Inc) tended to go a bit flat in the middle, but this one is paced to perfection.

I just wonder if the trailers (which give nothing away) are putting people off?

TowarRAB the end it gets rather sad and I would have liked for them
to make Wall.e stay as not remembering anything and not knowing who Eve was and so on
but yeah it turned out uplifting.

I suppose they thought that the thing in the spoiler was too sad for children?

Really good animation, adored it.

Oh and silly fat pride people, just read that link... seriously, it's an animation...

I think I must be one of the only people who isnt that excitied about Wall-E. I have loved the previous Pixar films but I just didnt get excitied when I saw the trailer for Wall-E. I will still go and see it just to see what it is like. Hopefully I will be proved wrong and it turns out to be a great film!

Unfortunately in these cynical and depressing times some people just aren't able to appreciate a positive, genuinely heart-warming film - apparently they would rather go and get even more depressed by something dark like The Dark Knight.

Still, WALL-E is a beautiful classic which even more people will undoubtedly come to appreciate as time goes by. It's done well in the cinemas and will no doubt fly off the shelves with the DVD and Blu-ray releases later in the year. I love it so much that I'm even thinking of buying a Blu-ray player just to see it in all its home cinema glory. :D

I can't believe there's no Wall-e threaRAB on the front page as I type this!

Saw it yesterday and was completely loved it, by far the best Pixar movie, in fact the best of the modern animated classics for me, but for some reason I've never seen either of the Toy Story films.

If I wasn't giggling uncontrollably I was "aaawww"ing like my missus in a field of kittens.

Wall-E

Really enjoyed this. The first half an hour was particularly great, just seeing Wall-E doing his day to day job, and the way he lives, the things he finRAB. It's almost a shame that they had to include a story, because I would have been happy watching him and his little cockroach buddy just living their lives.

Actually, things got even better when Eve came into it. The animation was of course, stunning throughout, and although when they got onto the ship there were occasions when it did seem to get a little bit dull, it was never for long, and it always looked good at least.

It wasn't as funny as it could have been, but it was such a sweet story that I guess that doesn't matter. Another hit for Pixar then. They just keep delivering.

It was very good but didn't beat Toy Story, Monsters Inc, or Finding Nemo for me. They were all far more original films whereas Wall-E is a blatant rip off of 2001, E.T., and Short Circuit, with elements of Mike Judge's Idiocracy thrown in for good measure (but I doubt that many people have seen that last one).

I wish my gadgets charged up as fast in the sun as Wall-E did though!

Watched it on Wednesday and thought it was great. I'll admit I did fill up at the end :o, it was such a touching story.

As for little references in the film, I noticed when WALL-E was started back up at one point:

He made the Apple Mac startup sound, a nod to the fact Steve Jobs used to own Pixar and is now a major Disney director

I saw it last night, and in my opinion, it's not as good as people are making it out to be. It was a good movie, but personally, I don't think it's up there for Pixar's best.

I saw it last week, and I thought it was good. Although it's not up to Toy Story standard! I found it really wierd cause there's so little dialogue.
One of my mates said, it's a bit like ET - which I agree with.

By the way.... what's the deal with everyone having a go at Cars? I think its great, I absolutlely LOVE it.

There's another thread about Wall-E somewhere here. I saw it at Glastonbury, and it's absolutely wonderful. Really took me by surprise actually. One of my favourite Pixar films, and that's really saying something because I love pretty much all of them.

Also, the little short animation before the feature is really good for this one as well.

I filled up at the end  :o

and am now having great fun annoying the Weedlettes by just randomly shouting out WALLLL-E and EVAAAAA in my newly adopted robotic voice whenever I feel like it :D:D
