use built in Chat application with Data! mobjab.com

hi,

i can connect to the mobjab server no problem and i can also retrieve my msn contact list. however, the contacts are only listed by their email address, their msn names does not seem to appear anywhere. is this a bug or is it simply a limitation of mobjab?

It's not working for me:

I login on my handset.
On pidgin I can see [email protected] online (Subscription: both)
On my nokia the gmail.com buddy appears offline.
I begin to chat with the gmail buddy.
I receive the messages on pidgin.
On pidgin, I response to the message of [email protected].
The response is never received on my nokia handset.

I can send messages to the gmail buddies, but they appears offline, and they can't response to me.

I am able to use the Manage Services for XMPP now, but when I log in on my phone after registering the gtalk service, it shows I have 0/0 contacts. I should have about 15 for the account I am setting up. Username on mobjab = panthar.

stupid question...do i have the chat /im feature built-in to my 95-3?

I can't find these settings on my phone:

First go to Chat Options Settings Server settings Servers Options New Server

You would then require to input the MobJab Server settings:

Account name : MobJab

Server address : http://mobjab.mobi:9090

User ID : username of your MobJab account

Password: password of your MobJab account

Access point settings : This is your mobile opertors gprs/data connectivity

Proxies: This setting specifies whether or not your gprs/data connections will be routed through a proxy. Enable this setting if you will be connecting to an alternative Wap Proxy/Wap Gateway.

Data Bearer: The data bearer that will be used for the connection (e.g., GPRS, EDGE, etc).

Hello, I have the same issue described by gimco with the server mobjab.in. My account is oscarmbv, can you help me please. Thank you.

Yeah I'm still not able to get MSN transport to work properly. The web applet seems extremely janky, doesn't store my settings and won't propagate my list properly.

No IMPS has ever worked for me, not Yamigo, not PacketBox and not MobJab.

Well MSN is the only thing working for me but I haven't tried yahoo, aim or anythign else.

I really want gtalk to work since that is what I use the most. I seldom even log into MSN.

I haven't tried adding it recently, I'll give it a whirl later on today and post the good or bad news.

Wow first time i read this thread. Just so i am on the same page, this will allow me to use the built in IM function on my e71 to use google talk? And AIM too? Would this also work on an n95-4? I dont remember seeing an IM client on the n95-4.

Hi

Can you email me your username at info @ mobjab.com would like to check the logs at our side why there is a different behaviour with different ports. Ideally should be the same.

Also we would need to test/check this real time when you logged on to your IMPS client.

Let us know

Hi

Yes we are aware about this issue. The problem is our s2s connection with gtalk servers hangs/stops after some time and we are working on it to fix it. Will update you on this.

Also there is an issue with adding contacts on mobjab.in server on imps ver 1.3 clients and we are also working on fixing that.

Will post an update here.

hm..i finally found where the hidden IM program on my n85 (thanks to jbak taskman). now, after i registered (only using gtalk, so signed up using mobjab.in) and set it up on my phone, i can't add contact list-keep getting "list creation failed". i think someone else had this prob awhile back, but not sure how it got resolved. thanks for all the help. my mobjab username is travac.

Hi

I believe you would be creating a new/fresh contact list to add contacts. If by any chance you are not able to create a Contact Lists try adding a Gtalk/XMPP user and you would be prompted to create a Contact Lists before adding the user.

Let us know if this resolves the problem or not.

I haven't been able to log in all day...my phone has prompted me several times that has been continually trying to log in but unable to do so.

Are there more server updates going on or is there some port that I need to specify to make it work over tzones for t-mobile.
