I belive i was not clear on this. the we would disconnect the IMPS client if there is no activity at all. As in no polling/packets at all for 15 minutes. This was in context of the port issue where the IMPS client was timing out or the users gprs/data connectivty on port 80 was timing out. Wanted to figure out if the mobile operator is timing the user out or the imps client is not doing any kind of activity for 15 minutes on port 80

That means you are still not able to create the contact list right? If yes then in the chat/conversation window you would get an option to add the IM contact to your contact list. Try using that option and then create the contact list.
Yes. Your contacts have to add your mobjab.in ID to their contact list.

I hope the profile editing tool does not lag too far behind Gtalk integration. Otherwise, once Gtalk is available to new users, how are we--existing users--going to update our profiles and sign up?
Also, sorry to keep bringing this up, but would someone try to change their available message using the built-in S60 client and then check on a PC using a secondary account to see if the message actually changed? It doesn't on mine. If possible, I would like to set custom available (or away) messages, such as "At work" or "At home," and so forth.

We have not mentioned anywhere that you need to open or can open either of the domains in any browser. In fact this 2 domains dont even point to a website for any browser to open them.
You can check this forum itself for Nokia E series if its working for other users or not. You would come up with the answers yourself.
I guess you didnt go through this even after having spent more then 5 hours:

I can't find the IM app on the N95-3...I'm pretty sad.
Who knows if there is any way to tell how frequently IMPS client sends data on an idle connection (presuming that buddies don't move!) and if the user does not touch the phone, does not send or receive messages, etc.
I couldn't find an IDLE/KEEPALIVE setting in the client anywhere.

ok, adding contacts work now. i think what i did wrong was just use my username, instead of username@mobjab.in.
so for my contacts, they have to have 2 entries for me? one for my gmail account, and another for the mobjab.in ID?
also, if i have contacts who use aim, i'm able to login to my aim account using my gmail account. is there a way i can get their messages via the mobjab.in account or do i need to setup a separate mobjab.mobi account? thanks for your help!

my username on mobjab : mailistman
handset Nokia N82 using server mobjab.mobi
problem : no contact is visible on my YM account.
i have logged on to mobjab's web client and rostered all of my contacts as they appear on my YM. after that, when i hovered my mouse to check the subcription status all of them said "from". total contact is 33. should be fine with mobjab's suggested limit number of 50. what have might been wrong ? :befuddled
