use built in Chat application with Data! mobjab.com

Hello again. After mobjab.biz became online, I added all my buddies again, and it works!!. I could view my buddies online, and I could chat with them.

But, It's not working again after relogin. :'(

On pidgin/gtalk, I can see the buddy [email protected] state online. But if I send a message from pidgin, it isn't received in modjab.biz account.

If I send a message from my nokia to the gmail.com buddies, they receives the message, but they can't response.

Thanks again.

Hi

That message you would get on a desktop/pc client also. That is to upgrade your MSN client to a higher version so that you can chat with Yahoo users.

Cant be stopped as it comes form MSN Messenger Servers.

Hi

1. user management interface is taking a bit longer as handling the 4 external IMs is bit tricky.

2. web client after the UAM is working as desired so that it can handle all the 4 external IMs.

3. is everyone getting this french message from msn telling them they need to update there pc client?

You would get this on a desktop MSN Messenger client as well. Needs to be ignored. Its sent by MSN servers.

4. My problem with the whole "built-in IM program" saga is: How do companies that support this protocol make their money?

Correct on this. No Revenue models we can think about honestly as of now.

5. Firmware issue. N95 and E62 we are aware about this bug.

6. or wait for others to implement/fix a feature, like Mobjab, who are probably now wondering how to recover those programmer-hours spent for free on the project

the delay is not due to contraints on our resources. we need to technically figure out how to handle account editions on external IMs smoothly. we knew from the start that revenue model would be difficult.

7. Nokia is more interested in its own GPS-powered IM service than donating efforts to AIM/Yahoo/MSN/Google.

Bingo. you hit the nail.

8. How do you expect Nokia to investigate? Do you think they have direct access to Mobjab's servers and representative that's currently AWOL from this thread?

Dont mind Nokia investigating this issue. we can give access to our servers. we are away from this thread cuase we need to get the UAM and web client on.

To the mobjab folks, a device support, and then product question for you:

Is your service supported on the N97? And if so, is the implementation similar to that of Ovi Contacts where you'd simply need to be signed-in to the service, and then mobjab "reads" the IM service from how they are listed within the address book.

For example, I have a person in my address book, and they have an entry under the Google detail; upon logging into Mobjab with my GTalk credentials, I would then be able to initiate an IM session with them.

Or would this require an app, such as the IM application that came with previous Symbian S60 models?

Thanks in advance for the responses; hoping that this might be the IM solution I've been looking for.

Everywhere i see "when can i edit my user registration info" the answer has been "will be there soon"
Just looking for an eta as to when this will happen

Hi arjwright

No. Ovi Contacts is a XMPP based service which connects to the XMPP server on ovi.com. Ours is an IMPS service based on Wireless Village protocol.

IMPS doesnt automatically read from the address book. The contacts need to be added.

Or would this require an app, such as the IM application that came with previous Symbian S60 models?

Yes. This requires the IM app/client.

hello

I have nokia E90. Mobjob.mobi only works in IM application for me. I am logged in but can't retrieve my contact list. I cant open the website in browsers too.

I tried to add msn and yahoo ids myself too .. they are added but always offline to me! I have changed my status too to Available.

Umm... Am I reading this correctly? Mobjab.com will disconnect a user after 15 minutes of no activity? What's this? I don't understand this at all. Mobjab.com should allow the built-in client to send polling/idle packets and NEVER disconnect the client as long as the connection itself is alive, let alone do so after 15 minutes. That's just silliness. Please tell me that I read this wrong!
