UO #1 - I know a lot of people mentioned Oscar snubs/undeserved wins. Well, I for one think the Oscars mean absolutely nothing. It's rare that the wins are at all sensible, imo.
UO #2 - Most action movies bore the stuffing out of me. I know it's a bit oxymoronic, but it's totally true, and I can't really explain it, but I just don't find explosions/shooting/car crashes at all exciting when they're piled one on top of the other. When a good story leads up to an explosion it can be great- the first thing that comes to mind if the beginning of THe X-Files:FTF when Mulder finds the bomb and there' all that tension leading up to the explosion, and then the car gets thown forward. That was fantastic because of all the built-up tension. When it's just all action, all the time the effect isn't the same.
UO #3 - Brad Pitt isn't that great of an actor. He's decent, but way overrated.
UO #4 - Movies should be judged based on what the filmmaker's intentions with it was, not some pre-determined list of things that make a great movie. One of my biggest pet peeves is people judging kids movies as though they were made for an entirely different audience. I think the 1998 Parent Trap (UO #4.5 better than the original) is a great movie *coughiconcough* and 10th Kindgom (often overlooked

)is one of the best mini-series ever. And Pinocchio is overrated, cause I always found it creepy and boring as a kid.*
UO #5 - Thinking a movie is good and liking it are not the same thing. People always seem to get these two confused. I think Gone With the Wind is a
great movie, moving, epic, but I don't love it, cause Scarlett is unlikable, and I like liking the main character... yeah. Or, in the same vein as number 4, you can think a movie is good because it's perfect for the target audience, but not like it cause wasn't meant for you.
UO #6 - Catch Me if You Can is Leo DiCaprio's best movie (that I've seen!)
UO #7 -
Audrey Hepburn is overrated, and she annoys me a little. Katharine Hepburn on the other hand deserves all the praise she ever got.
UO #8 - XF:IWTB was a very good movie (talking about FTF reminded me), and it still makes me mad thinking about its reviews.
UO #9 - Secret Window is Johnny Depp's best movie (this is coming from a Depp fangirl whose seen and loved most of them) If you haven't seen it, please watch it. It's fantastic.
UO #10 - I don't like Simon and Garfunkel's soundtrack to the Graduate. It's one of the few things I really dislike about the movie. It's not my taste in music anyway, but it's distracting, and takes away from some great establishing shots.
UO #11 - I love the Village and Signs more than the Sixth Sense
UO #12 - Stranger Than Fiction was
great. It's Will Ferrell's best movie, and my favorite of his.
* edt. Actually, thinking about it, wasn't Pinocchio's actual intended audience adults? I feel like I've read that somewhere.
