Unpopular Opinions: Not everyone thinks "Citizen Kane" is the best movie ever!

^^^ Thank you.

BBM was better than I think some gave it credit for. More of the focus was on the gay relationship instead of the movie as a whole.

If there is one thing I can say about Stanley Kubrick we never does something just for the "sake" of it. Every one of his films makes a statement even if some don't see it. He was/is one of the most brilliant directors from the 20th century.

I love P and P (the 2005 one), but I can see how you might not like it... I'm wondering if I like it more because I'm not a huge fan of the BBC one that was out in 1995, I think. (Although I do like how that one followed the book more closely.)

I agree! The only reason I considered seeing this film was because Heath was The Joker. He was amazing in TDK, and he totally deserved the Oscar and GG he won.

UO #1 - I think Ben Affleck is a good actor and I like most of his movies (actually I think people are starting to give the guy more credit... )

UO #2- i didn't like The Notebook mostly because I think Ryan and Rachel had 0 chemistry

UO #3 - I don't think The Atonemet was all that great. The only thing I liked about it was the photography.

UO #4 - The Bourne Ultimatum was boring, meaningless and way worst than the other two.

UO #5 - I hate car chases in movies. LOL Ok, not sure if this is popular or not, but there are so many movies with car chases I suppose people like it, but I hate every single one of them

UO#11: I hate, loathe Superbad. I think it's totally overrated and parts of it were just stupidly disgusting.

I think a big reason for the hype around it is its revolutionary filmmaking techniques, particularly its use of deep focus and overall cinematography... the first time I saw it I was, honestly, underwhelmed. But then I watched it a second time and was just blown away - not just the technical bits, like I mentioned above, but because it's just also a first-rate story. I've been forced to revise my opinion on it  it's not the very best movie ever, but it's certainly up there as one of the best.

I haven't seen anything else Orson Welles has done though - is there anything you'd recommend?

I think Brad Pitt's performance in "The curious case of benjamin button" wasn't as amazing as a lot of people says, he was ok, but Cate Blanchett owned that movie, she was the one who should have been nominated for an Oscar.

I agree entirely! Maggie is a terrific actress. She gave such a powerful performance in SherryBaby! But like you, I liked how Katie fit into Rachel's role better.

^ Brokeback Mountain

I just remembered another UO today....I don't like Disney's Enchanted as much as I used to, anymore. The more I watch it, the more disappointed I get that they didn't have Idina sing lol. It seriously is lessening the movie for me haha

I meant that I think Tim Burton is a fantastic director but his ways of directing can be a little strange, so I understand if some people don't agree with his style of directing.

Does that make more sense?

Although i love Sandra Oh on Grey's anatomy, i have to accept that the movies she has been in aren't amazing, but i still love her, i love the different opinions as well

I think that although Babel is kinda overrated, Adriana Barraza should had won an oscar, her performnace owns the movie, for me. Jennifer Hudson was great in Dreamgirls, but Adriana was amazing.

 It's a great movie though!

Which leads me to- Jim Carrey is a better dramatic actor than he is at comedy. (Not sure if this is unpopular).

Yeah same here! Now that I think about it, I don't like fantasy/sci-fi movies or books in general. I do like superhero movies but I guess that's more of action though.

-Ferris Bueller's Day Off really isn't that great
-Helena Bonham Carter is one of the best actresses out there now
-Center Stage is better than Save The Last Dance
-It's absolutely ridiculous that David Fincher hasn't been nominated for a Directing Oscar
-I still haven't forgiven Winona Ryder for Mr. Deeds
-Speaking of Mr. Deeds, John Turturro is the only reason I didn't cut myself repeatedly throughout that movie!

I also have no interest in Twilight and don't find Robert all that attractive. I actually can't wait until the mania dies down. The hype really turned me off.

Think Angelina Jolie is overrated

I didn't like the Rent movie at all. I thought it sucked, but I haven't seen the broadway show to compare, but for me the movie was just bad.
