Unpopular Opinions: Not everyone thinks "Citizen Kane" is the best movie ever!

Yeah, he is!  Especially in that one scene where Virginia has to tie him up in the barn. Oh lordy. :thud:

And I agree that the South Park movie is a great musical. I loved it and don't usually go for musicals, so that has to say something.

And I agree with all of yours! I don't hate Matrix, but I certainly don't think it's mindblowing (I love how you describe it ). And I don't hate LOTR, but I'd really don't like it, and I also fell asleep during the first one!

... After watching 17 Again, I think Zac Efron just may have the talent (and obviously marketability) to become the next great movie star. :look:

UO #10 - (this one hurts) Ocean's 13 shouldn't have been made.

UO #11 - Joel Schumacher is a good director.

UO #12 - Dog Day Afternoon is boring.

There are some sequels that are better than the originals.

Terminator was awesome but T2 was the best.

Heath was annoying and nothing special as the Joker and Maggie Gyllenhaal was as ineffective as Katie Holmes.

I agree with you on this.

I'm not even interested in seeing Juno, I think it's so overrated. The previews are dull and Ellen Page did NOT deserve an oscar nomination for that role.

There have been a lot of other roles where actresses have played a young pregnant girl and done much better.

For example: Christina Ricci was pregnant in the movie "The Opposite of Sex", that movie was way more interesting than "Juno".

You'd be surprised. I read a few articles that said that she totally deserved it.

Ooohh what is it about? I almost bought the movie the other day at Best Buy but ended up getting American Gangster instead since I'd never seen Zodiac. :look:

I think Will Ferrell is a good actor (well more than people give him credit for..most just think he's the same character in all his comedy movies) but he was good in Stranger Than Fiction.

Luke Wilson is much more talented than his brother Owen. He just makes a lot of bad movie choices.

And I agree that High School Musical is very average fare. I think the worst is the main lead actress...she can't act at all IMO!

Yay, I'm not alone! Hee!

HSM I have never seen, I have to say.

I didn't know about the book or the movie. Now I want to know what it is about! lol

-Bijou Phillips is a pretty good actress...and singer :look:
-South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut is one of the greatest musicals of all time

I adore the BBC mini series and thought that one was much more true to the book. Also Colin Firth as Darcy just makes it for me. He played that character perfectly and now I can't imagine anyone else in the role. Maybe I hate the movie because I like the mini series better  I don't know.

Melika and Mavericks, the two of you made me laugh  no, it's about Charles Foster Kane's life, told in flashbacks, as people try to find out what the meaning of his last word - "Rosebud" - was. Surely you've heard of that famous scene, or the word "rosebud"? Anyway. Yes, it was revolutionary for its time but as I'm not a film student that doesn't hold that much meaning for me, personally. Still, as a movie it's pretty good, so it's well worth watching.

Lost in Translation was amazing! I loved Scarlett Johansson in it, that was a big reason why she's my second most favourite actress. I like Tim Burton enough but I don't love him, and as for Sideways - it was OK. Glad I watched it (had been wanting to watch it for a while), but I don't really want to watch it again. I think it's a very love-it-or-hate-it movie.

Great idea for a thread.

Here are some of my UP's:

UP#1: Johnny Depp should have won Best Actor for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (Can't remember who won, sorry)
UP#2: I didn't think Juno was that great of a movie.
UP#3: Ellen Page should not have been nominated for an Oscar. It wasn't that great of a movie.
UP#4: The Star Wars movies, all 6 or however many there are, are way overrated. Yes they have great special effects, but that's about it.
UP#5: Julia Roberts is way overrated. it seems she plays the same person in every movie.
UP#6: I liked both Crossroads with Britney Spears and Glitter with Mariah Carey. Not the best acting, but entertaining.
UP#7: Made of Honor starring Patrick Dempsey is a sad twist on My Best Friend's Wedding starring Julia Roberts.
UP#8: I hated Hairspray. The original is better.
UP#9: Gwyneth Paltrow deserved to win her Oscar.
UP#10: Nikki Blonksy is overrated.

Wow, I totally agree with all these  :clap::clap:

- I hate Matrix, I can't see what's so cool about it, to me it's just a bunch of weird people dressed in black who can move in a weird way :goof:

- I haaaaaate Lord of the Rings, SO boring, I tried watching the first one and I feel asleep! I don't know what's so brilliant about it

- I don't think Adam Sandler is as funny as everyone says

I agree about George Clooney. He's a good actor, but not as great as some make him out to be.
