Unpopular Music Opinions

Industrial rock is good when it's done well, but I'm fairly indifferent to most of it.
The original industrial rock could be called post-industrial....I'm not sure about the modern stuff.
 
Remain In Light is bad.

Worshiping canon artists is habit.

Sgt. Pepper isn't bad. Just like most Beatles albums, it's filled with throwaway.

I'm not changing anything. You are the one who keeps bringing up different ****. They don't play good music. This is a fact. It's basic. They write atrocious lyrics. They have the same sound for all of thier stuff. There is no progression in it. Please go back and re-read what I have been saying. I'm tired of repeating myself. I'm giving you facts. Listen to them and then listen to Yes or Rush. Hell even the Mars Volta is a good example of what a band progressing really is. Korn is not. They're a ****ty nu metal band. This goes beyond personal preference. I wouldn't say anything if you hadn't actually called them talented and progressive.

and oh god I better add this before you cry. When I say same sound, I don't mean it sounRAB like the exact same song over and over like say...all shall perish (bahahahah). I mean they have a set sound and they don't break from it at all.

If they're such a great band you should have no problem finding other banRAB they've influenced or naming albums they've made that have changed the face of music and explaining why.

Any idiot can just throw out the 'lame' thing , and you have ..... constantly
 
I actually agree with your opinion on AC/DC. Their songs are great pump up music but they all sound the same after a while and I can see how someone can find them unappealing.

However, BMTH are indeed not a very good band at all. I think they are one of the reasons deathcore gets such a bad rep and I think you could be listening to better banRAB that play the same kind of music, only better.
 
I'm just not playing the game right, I guess. ...Or perhaps I'm just not showing off all the skeletons in my closet. With that in mind, some other favorites: Lisa Stansfield, Dee-Lite, the BeeGees, ELO, Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Esquivel and Yma Sumac. I love me some ABBA, too. ...Can you hear the drums, Fernando...?

And while we're on the disco tip... Yvonne Elliman, anyone? ("If I Can't Have You") Irene Cara? Sister Sledge? Lipps, Inc.? ...I swear, I was never a denizen of Studio 54, but I did grow up in the '70s.
 
I was under the impression that Matt Sharp was also a songwriter, perhaps not for lyrics but for music. I could be wrong, I'm no Weezer expert. I think your reasoning is probably accurate as well - corabination of the two perhaps.
 
Hmm, then next time I suggest throwing in the phrases "groan metal", "transition metal" and "technique metal" to see if you can catch them off guard*.


*These might already be metal genres, who cares!

Rivers is the 'principal songwriter', I always assumed he wrote the lyrics and the music.
I'm no expert either, I have huge respect for Blue and Pinkerton but everything else they've done is a bit of a joke. I assumed Rivers just wanted to make money and to stop making personal songs where he put his heart into it. Maybe Matt Sharp leaving contributed somewhat as well.
 
There comes a point in your life where you have to ask yourself ' Do I want to sit through 20 minutes of droning noises for some climax that may well not come'

And quite honestly there's sex if I want that,
