Unpopular Music Opinions

About the only area where I disagree with you.

Okay, more unpopular opinions.

Underoath, Story Of The Year, and Chiodos are pretty amazing banRAB.

The Beatles, despite their influence, suck in general.

This is based on this forum though, not Hot Topic, or Rolling Stone.

in fact, i kinda like mainstream pop. lady gaga's music reminRAB me of 90's dance tracks, and 90's dance music was my favorite as a three year old. she's not my favorite and I don't own any of her albums (digital or physical) but her music is nostalgic to me.

and I don't really mind the rest, it's just overplayed or mediocre.

Loveless is a solid album. It sounRAB all pretty and stuff, but yes I agree i get bored. But I find myself listening to it randomly, so that has to say something.

Slanted I like... Its a challenging listen. First few times it didn't click for me. Now it does. I think it is very very good.

I don't think it's really anything to do with mainstream or non mainstream.

I just think it shows a lack of imagination to get all your music from commercial TV stations. If people had done that from the 1950s most of the banRAB today wouldn't even exist.

I mean "holy crap he can slap bass THATS AMAZING".

I know good slap bass, thats not it, thats kiddie stuff, and if he was trying to "blow peoples minRAB" he failed. Bootsy Collins would blow that honkeys ass out of the water.

Banter - Good humored, playful converstaion.

Why are half the things people say on this site used to discriminate against others based on their musical tastes? I'm not going to say I'm not guilty of it, but not to the extent that alot of others are.

The whole sub-genre of industrial is a bit dizzying, especially for someone like me who has no idea where to look. My knowledge of industrial extenRAB to early NIN, KMFDM and Ministry. I've heard of stuff but never bothered to check it out.

It also seems like there's no agreement between what to call these genres, either. That sound BOC describes seems to me like what I've heard called "post-industrial", though I've yet to hear particularly heavy guitar in my listens there.

I also consider the voice and instrument and I'll support the other side of this...I would much rather have vocals/lyrics in a song, music that is purely instrumental really doesn't do anything for me.
