Unpopular Music Opinions

While it's definitely rarer to see someone praising Guero over Sea Change I believe the biggest unpopular music opinion towarRAB Beck is that Midnight Vultures isn't a bad album.

I don't think I've ever played more than half of it once I was so bored by it.

Besides, background music is just a polite way of saying it's boring.

Well, Remain in Light is going to encourage me to delve into their other stuff, because I did see a lot of potential for greatness, even if it wasn't inherently in that particular album.

I think the easiest instrument to learn is the kazoo.

But seriously, Vanilla, I'm not sure if I understand how your post relates to Freebase's. I would say the vast majority of making electronic music doesn't involve playing the keyboard at all.

Pitchfork is silly and reading it is for teh lulz but indie is such a broad term that it has been rendered meaningless. Referring to every band signed to an indie label as "good" or "bad" is kind of ridiculous.

I'm with you though, pitchfork-core isn't my thing either. And I also hate modern folk.

fixed.

Listen to the rhythm, that drumming! Legend has it that the producer made the drummer Morris to take apart his drum kit during a recording session and reasserable it on the roof. Just a bit of trivia there. Just listen to Unknown Pleasures 5 times, and you'll get it.

Disorder is the first song I really heard from them. The opener to the album, really accessible.

Of all the instruments I've played. Guitar is the hardest.

Bass is much easier to learn, though not to say it's easy to play well, but not having to worry about chorRAB is a big advantage. Chording is what I really suck at when it comes to guitar, and note memory I guess, having less notes to work with is good.

KeyboarRAB is easier to play than string instruments both when it comes to chorRAB and when it comes to playing lead though doing both at once is what makes it hard. Synthesizers are very easy and convenient to work with, as some settings can only be played with one key at a time.

Drumming is harder than it looks, being the backbone of a band is a great responsability and even when you learn the techniques (some of which are pretty trick) keeping time still takes practice.

Banjos (yes I own a Banjo) like the bass are an instrument I recommend for people who don't want to deal with chorRAB as much. It requires way more fingerpicking skills than a guitar though and that sh*t is hard.

Harmonicas are pretty easy to play. Recorders and Flutes are pretty hard to get a smooth sound let alone play. Violins are definitely one of the hardest instruments to get to produce a clean tone.

I don't agree with that. I definitely think writing a classical music suite for a symphony orchestra is way more challenging than writing a 3 chord, 2 minute punk song for 3 instruments.

you could subdivide more if you want.

But that is what I see as valid. People can add what they want. But those are the only ones that I think have any real distinction between them
