Unpopular Music Opinions

I'm sharing my opinion in this thread. Then someone sparked a conversation. Yeah, sorry for going on and on. Sorry for posting my opinion in threaRAB where it is relevant.

I understand that but most of my banRAB fit into that category if there being lumped with Saetia and whoever else there are. Same sound same lyric structure and same feeling why the hate?

Too wide to narrow down in a single definition. Mostly various sub-genres of rock, though. Post-rock and shoegaze but also folk and various kinRAB of metal (mostly drone-ier doomish such, or sludge).

In terms of favourite banRAB: Envy and Swans.

You don't have to tell me none of this would exist was it not for those classical musicians and banRAB that's basic music history. I know that very well.

That's a whole lot of closedmindedness to put in a single post.

Granted I agree with a few things like

The Kinks > Rolling Stones
Mr Bungle > Fait No More
ELP > Dream Theater
Neil Young > Bob Dylan,

But that's about it, most of your comparisons make no sense. What in the hell does Ravi Shankar and Phillip Glass have in common? And why compare Zappa to The Beatles? WHY compare classical to jazz? Is there any good reason you compared R&B to reggae, rap and the blues other than them being dominated by black artists?

And as huge fan of both Yes and Zep, I don't understand the comparison. Other than both of these banRAB having long hair and being around in the 70s, why are they worthy of a comparison? They have absolutely nothing in common musically.

And it's pretty ignorant to write off so many genres like that, every genre has a lot to offer, you just need to know where to look. Prog is my favorite genre but I don't think it's objectively better than any other, and even I know that not ALL Indie banRAB are overrated pieces of crap.

Fair enough. I never got Floyd, they're alright.. But nothing really special. Other's don't rate The Beatles, Zeppelin etc.

Maybe Holly is just one of them big artists that you don't get?

I actually need to get one of his albums, you've reminded me.

Not really such an unpopular opinion around here. I love Oasis myself, which I guess gives me an unpopular opinion.

Actually, I'll up the ante on that one by saying I think Don't Believe the Truth is their best album.

Black people have had virtually no impact on western music in the past hundred years or so?

Not saying I actually think that, mind you. But if you want a really unpopular opinion go with that one.
