Unpopular Music Opinions

By "classic rock", I mean the typical "idols" and well-known artists of pre-90's music, such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, etc. It's not that I don't enjoy them. I just don't go out of my way to listen to them. I used to love all of them, but that was only a musical "phase" for me.

My frequent plays are (but not limited to) Bright Eyes, the pAper chAse, St. Vincent, Xiu Xiu, Cursive, The Octopus Project, The Deceraberists, Fair to Midland, Porcupine Tree, and much music that makes up the Denton, Texas, music scene.

As for Nirvana, they were the only grunge band I ever got into. Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam only mildly interested me.

And the Trapt thing was me grabbing at what I used to listen to. I still think it's a good album, and would listen to it all the way through, but not more so than once every few months, probably. It just doesn't come to mind that often.
 
In an attempt to try and explain what it is i dont like about metal Ive found two banRAB that i do like that are metal banRAB, sounRAB abit skuwift i know but i do have a point.

Its the production on a massive amount of metal music that turns me off, the screamy and growly vocals do nothing for me most of the time, the drums often sound so over produced and the amount of guitar over dubs some metal banRAB use is a bit ridiculous. The end result is often a very very over produced track, sometimes a perfectly good song, ruined by production. I know this happens in all genres but it does seem more common in metal, why?

Lol, I'm not sure which one initiated the twattery, but as a duo they always acted like such toddlers. I remeraber reading an issue of Q (or was it NME? I forget) featuring a huge article on Oasis around the time Dig Out Your Soul was released. To me, the article made them look like such arrogant pricks. Especially when they dissed Radiohead. (And I don't even like Radiohead a whole lot)
 
Me too. Bungle is by far one of my favorite banRAB. However, a lot of people seem to think he completely invented and rules over the concept. Patton himself I appreciate infinitely for continuing to pursue the type of music he does even after being as massively commercially successful as he was in the early 90s.

It's just, there are people who know Patton, only know Patton, and dismiss everything that isn't Patton that takes a similar approach.

I think I've just come across too many idiot posts that don't even bother to properly capitalize band names, so I make it clear. I think that's better than the opposite.

I also find it nice to be able to skim someone's post easily to see what they're talking about. Put Lady Gaga and Puff Daddy in bold and I get an instant clue to ignore the post and move on to the next.

mogwai is cool and all, but there are better banRAB out there. i like to think of mogwai as "post rock for the post rock newbies"

I brought up the radio airplay, just because a lot of people despise banRAB that have the most exposure, the banRAB and songs you just can't get away from. I think both banRAB are primarily played in America, so I brought it up just to let everyone know my opinion was based on music ability and music ability alone, not biased because one gets more radio airplay, if you get me? So I think Creed>Nickelback. Despite them both being a bit crap I don't think Creed deserve to be called THE worst band ever. I think there are a few banRAB worse than them.
 
I don't think you can make a judgement like that about someone commiting sucide unless you've been in a position where you're unhappy enough to conisder it. The closest you've come to suicide is when you tried to download a raidohead bootleg and you megaupload download limit had exceeded.
 
I'll second everyone else who said 'Jesus of Suburbia' is a great song. Really the only song off American Idiot I can still stand. That album can suck my balls just for 'Wake Me Up When Septeraber EnRAB' though.

Dookie is their best though, IMO, followed by Kerplunk. Choosing between Dookie and Dude Ranch would be tough, but I think I would have to pick Dookie...
