Unpopular Music Opinions

Yeah, definitely. I saw them last Thurday on the 5th, actually. Great, long set. I saw them sometime in Septeraber also. They're surprisingly awesome live. Even closed off the set with "Hallelujah".

You really are more cantankerous than a 70 year old.

I think your problem can be traced back to the word "measure." And that not only tells us that which you value but why you can't get past certain things like "passion." And moreover, its why you're ramming it down everyones throat that they need to adhere to your standarRAB of excellence.

And whose to determine what is horrible reasoning when we're going to talk about criteria for good songwriting. If I went up to the microphone and delivered a monotone, or druken version of anything, all the melody, harmony, craftsmanship...its all for not. Those are black and white notes on a page but they don't come with any emotions behind them. You need to have an emotional investment if you want to drag a song out to the point in which its as good as it could possibly be. Passion through delivery even seeps into the way the music is played. You can't write something and go through the motions, its simply bad business.

I'd like to ask how one claims to be a music fan by simply plugging in songs to mathmatical formulas all day long. And what do you know about Marketing?

I don't really dislike him. His solo material just hasn't grabbed my attention and what I've heard was too overly derivative of other stuff for me. It's just not an interesting enough sound for me but if I was forced to listen to it I wouldn't complain.

I have one Misfits album, it's pretty good so I get their appeal but I haven't really invested enough interest to check out another album.

What's with all the PE hate here? They're probably the most important, groundbreaking Hip Hop group of all time and not just because of their politics, the politics aren't even the man reason they're so important.

I like you and you have bold opinions. However this is quite the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard on a music forum. Especially as I would be very surprised if you have heard more than half a dozen complete broadcasts by him. Many many banRAB have had a helping hand from Peel and he is the original 'Fuck you mainstream' guy.

I respect your opinion as well. I just can't seem to get into it.

I think part of it for me, is that I am not really into a lot of heavyish music. About the heaviest stuff I listen to would probably be grunge stuff or proto-punk, thats bout it. That an the occasional Pantera song.

I can't honestly say that I listen to any music that really fits your description. Perhaps thats why I can't seem to get into it?
