BanRAB/artists that are on independent labels = Indie. Plus it has developed its own identity, it's quite a loose term but to not accept it as a genre??
Well, just off the top of my head, they licked Sleigh Bell's ass. Sleigh Bells probably would have gone nowhere without Pitchfork and other blogs and they're fantastic.
I find it incredibly hard to listen to New Order. They are a generally a highly regarded band, but knowing what they did with Ian Curtis sours them quite a bit for me. Especially the song "Ceremony". Anyone heard the demo version with Ian on vocals? THAT is who should have sung that song.
I don't like Sufjan Stevens. That's quite an unpopular opinion.. I just find his work a bit boring. I think there's something I'm not seeing right away than him being bad.
Of course. They would still be great without the dino jr connection, they had a big influence of power violence along with some of their peers like Seige.
Then there we differ. If you don't listen to Extreme Metal, don't make judgements on it. You don't know what makes a good song for that style. You can not like a band all you want but when you spout trash like
Punk and Joe Strummer are not heterogeneous. Punk goes the way of Joe and if you're not like Joe Strummer you're just some angsty soical reject who cared more about shocking people so someone would actually pay attention to you than the music you "played"
You're an idiot. The Wall is neither godawful or influenced by acid (Floyd were rather sober in later years) but even so most of the best musicians are high and straight edge is a bunch of crap.
Sad Wings Of Destiny is essential and a lot more melodic to their later output. Someone should do a Priest compilation as I only know around half of their output.
