Unpopular Music Opinions

"Real screamo" blows and 99% of the banRAB involved with it sound exactly the fucking same.

And they all have stupid band names that are either really long (like 'The BirRAB are Spies, They Report to the Trees' or 'I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook' or 'Noisy Sins of the Insect') or some obscure reference to God knows what ('The Khayerabii Communiqu

YouTube - Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick - Madison Square Garden 1978
that's just 9 minutes of their 40+ minute Thick As A Brick

but yeah

-i still like JT better than the other banRAB i listed(there, i just said i liked them more. happy, you sons of bitches?)
-Reverend Horton Heat neeRAB to be talked about more in the music world
-people who think rappers have no talent should enter a freestyle battle
-i like Phish's studio work more than their long, drawn out jams

I agree with nearly most of this, except C0ckers version of WALHFMF being better than the original and Toto being cool.

And Latimer is a much better guitarist than Gilmour technically, though I still prefer Gilmour and consider him to be the greater guitarist, and with more lasting appeal, afterall, few people know who Latimer is, not that it makes him any less good, but it does mean he lacks in the impact/influence departmen, regardless it's nice to know me and Les are not the only Camel fans around here. And I personally consider AIC the be to least best grunge band of the big 4, but that's just me.

Also I don't really consider One Hot Minute to be among RHCP's best, though it does have some of the most f*cking amazing bass playing I have ever heard.

Oh, well.. never mind then. :D

I think the comparison is obvious, band changes its sound after its front man passes away, there's natural comparisons between before and after.

Why is Bono wearing make up?!

This song has never been one of my favourites. :( still, worth a watch/listen. I was never that keen on Until the End of the World either.

I'd never heard of Pitchfork until I came here, lulz.

I don't care what other people think about albums, I want to figure that out on my own

I didn't say that, or imply that.

I implied that many Stones songs/albums sound like an average version of the music they are emulating. Zeppelin is an amazing vision of the music they are emulating.

Much like McCartney's Who inspired "Helter Skelter" is a fantastic song in its own right, or Lennon's Dylan-esque stuff.

My nuraber one problem with Rage's politics is summed in this quote from Tom Morello:

"America touts itself as the land of the free, but the nuraber one freedom that you and I have is the freedom to enter into a subservient role in the workplace. Once you exercise this freedom you've lost all control over what you do, what is produced, and how it is produced. And in the end, the product doesn't belong to you. The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leaRAB to the second freedom: the freedom to starve."

Oh poor Tom, so you feel oppressed because you've actually got to get a job and work for a living like every other person who's ever f*cking lived? Id hate to hear how you'd feel if you were a child living in a Township in South Africa who's homeless now because both of your parents were murdered by a militia.

Its just a bunch of neo-hippies moaning about nothing.

So the other day I downloaded Trout Mask Replica, being a big Zappa and residents fan. I expected to love it. Keep in mind, I've never heard anything by Beefheart before this album. and my conclusion is...

This is the worst music I have ever heard, if it even can be considered music. I would rather listen to Justin Beibers newest album on repeat for the rest of the week then sit through this album one more time. It it beyond horrible. I've heard Beefheart is a musical genius before, and I think he must be an Evil Genius, as this is so terrible it had to be made trying to be the most terrible it could be in every aspect

(Flame shield on!)

I love the Chili Peppers personally... They are one of the first banRAB that really sparked my interest in collecting a complete discography. I was obsessed with how different their early stuff was from their later stuff. They also get some respect for having more than one peak. They were pretty popular in the 80s, they were gigantic in the early 90s, and blew up again in the early 00s after seemingly being past their prime. Only Aerosmith has had so many recoveries.
