Unpopular Music Opinions

After the Q/A session those of us who stayed were asked if we wanted autographs, I made a beeline for big Albini and Weston. Both super nice guys, if you get the chance to speak to them post-gig go for it.

I also met Aidan Moffat from Arab Strap as well, he was supporting Shellac that night. In general, just one of the best nights ever.

Sorry, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Noise is not the same as music. And it never will be. Sure some people may do it well in some people's minRAB, but too much noise, in music, to me is just noise. After a while I can't hear what I want to hear, the music.

I think we all need to familiarize ourselves with the term punk to understand right-tracks posts. A punk is in fact, a young male partner to a homosexual. Example: where is pastor Oojay's punk at?

I think that clears this discussion up.

Oooh, you do your research. Bravo.

Oh, and I can at least agree that straightedge is a load of crap. I'm not inclined to giving up coffee, or alcohol, or any other mind-bending substances. I just think using drugs as your main creative tool is a load of crap.

I'm not going to retract my opinion because that's horse****, but I can at least say now that I hate Pink Floyd a little less.

However, next time I decide to get high and someone suggests listening to The Wall on vinyl, I might have an aneurysm.

You're so indie.

I like the White Album, but there's far better and more consistent Beatles albums, including everything after Help! (except of course Yellow Submarine).

Celtic would be all the folk music I'm listening to - like Loreena McKennitt. Medieval would again be folk music. Like traditional acoustic folk music. Swedish is anything from Swedish Pop, to Swedish Folk, to Swedish Rock, to Swedish Punk, to Swedish New Age to Swedish Dance music even.

Yeah. Tommorrow Never Knows. Norwegian Wood. A Day in the Life. Strawberry FielRAB. I Am The Warlus. Happiness is a Warm Gun. Such sheer lack of originality.

That is just plain wrong.

Yeah, we can't forget that having influences make you unoriginal.

I'm in agreement about his voice. Seems all he does since the first two albums is scream and it's really just annoying, it has ZERO appeal for me even though I enjoy other screamers.

But I've never paid enough attention to his lyrics to have an opinion on that.
